alright so i was board at my house so i started to play brawl and i was playing a zelda when this first happened and i spiked her all four stocks and i saved it to my wii(thank god otherwise i may have no noticed it). then a few days later i looked at the vid and i noticed something inparcular about the spike. I cant rele explaine it but just trust me on it it was weird and made me question if it could be done on othercharaters and so on and so forth.

So i started testing this on every character in the game and it took me about 3-5 days and thanks to training mode i have confirmed that it kills many characters at low percents. Well anyway here is the combo. you get your opponent to 40% and lets say FD because i can give the best visual example there. in the middle there is a diamand then 2 arrows on both sides facing out. so it looks like this

|< < <> > > | (now ill put a x for where your opponent should beand a * for where you should be)
|< x * <> * x > | they should be on the very tip of the arrow closest to the dimand with you forcing them into the corner)

So once you get the setup of things this is what you do. you grab them and IMMIDEATLY(DONT HIT THEM) forward throw them then you charge up with a fair and then you jump and then spike them. If noone has clamied this tecqunie i would like it to be called the Marth Slash Spike. now its time for the catch.

The characters as you all know have different hights and weights which make them fall at different hights and angles. 40% is the general angle for this to work. on the ordiary character the damage for them to spike will be between 38%-62%. on some characters such as jiggly(she is the only one that i have noted to be extremly out of this range) you need her to be between 15%-25% and that will spike and kill her. also some characters such as mario, luigi, and diddy are relativly short to the other characters which require you to fastfall for just a moment and then jump and spike them rather that just spikeing them, also if a character is around 38% and you do this it would be better if after your fair and do your second jump you dont di forward but stand still and then spike, but if they are at 40% and more then DI forward and spike.

Lastly i have been able to do this against all characters with tweaking and finding the right time to fastfall and stuff exept for 5 characters. The 5 characters which i dont think this will work on are Marth, Fox, Falco, Pit, and MK i havnt once yet been able to do the Marth Slash Spike on them but it still may be possible if you find the right distance and damage ratio and stuff so if you do it on one of these 5 please tell on how you did it, i hope this combo helps your marth in gameplay and style feel free to discuss

after fthrow some players have been able to stop my fair via an attack of their own(olimar has faird me)

and ive seen people do fair to jump then spike so im not sure you can claim this.

nonetheless fair to spike is a great kill for mid percents

Lol, people already have a subname for this as a Ken Combo ... which really sucks as a name because it shouldn't be called Ken Combo ... ...

Just call it FThrowFairSpike ... (It's more descriptive imho)

Why should it not be called a Ken combo? Give credit where credit is due.

Kens a great player and i mean no disrespect but plenty of people found this out without watching ten hours of his replays, let alone ever even watch one of his matches, so calling it that is kind of lame.

What he's saying is that it's unescapable when done at X % at X positioning, not just fair to spike.

If at all possible, can you send the replays to anyone? I can get it uploaded.

I guess, but he did it first.... or at least he effectively used it in his gameplay and made it popular. I kinda see where you're coming from though.

Niko K^ might not be true trust me I almost always fair after fthrow at mid percents. positioning would have little to do with because unless theres a wall (there isnt on fd :|) momentum wont change.

then again I could be wrong but itd have to be tested and if it was true youd probably have to have the perfect percent

But im not trying to bash this approach like I said I almost always try it.

Yeah this is a Ken Combo. But props to Nigam for finally getting the true combo %'s. I gave up trying to fair > spike a long time ago because it just gets airdodged

And Ken did kind of pioneer the entire marth metagame...

Everything is great except for the name. Please the crowd will give the name to these things not the person that discovered it. Usually works out better b/c less flaming and more consensus. Also I'm pretty sure everybody will still survive if they meteor cancel. correct?

LOL at GERM randomly coming into the Marth forums.

This is the Ken Combo. It will not be called the Marth slash spike combo, the final flash combo, or the spirit bomb (I NEED MORE POWER!!!) combo.

But this thread was semi useful. Conclusion: at mid-percentages look for the Ken combo after the f-throw.
