With all this I certainty don't feel like I did the best I could have, I've never felt outclassed in a game in smash 4, with the prime exception of Judo's sheik... but I think I could do well versus it now. Every game I've managed to watch again I know I'm very bad at getting punishes in situations and I let momentum slip through my fingers quite a bit. Things can definitely improve, Marth is pretty much a razor's edge kinda character.

idk wtf Nicoles was doing with ZSS at the start of the match. I saw stronger fundamentals as things moved forward but at the start I was literally scratching my head.

General advice.

Stop committing so much. Stop trying to land with aerials. d-tilt does NOT lead to anything guaranteed. You keep trying to force DB after it. You will get mauled vs stronger players. You give up advantage state for free. Full jumping after your opponent. Don't do that.

yeah I've been working on my advantage state lately as it's a common critique of my game. I've been seeing better results since I've been trying to do things that scared me earlier during the advantage state. When you say full jumping after my opponent, do you mean while the opponent is above? Thanks for the feedback

We've been in the scene before Wifi but yes Marss used to dominate Anthers ladder and some Nintendodojo (hes my little brother) and Kc / Pelca play it once ina while. Me and Marss don't play Wifi that much anymore as we perfect our talent vs each other.

I was at TBH too. I didn't think there were any Marths there other than Mr. E and I.

Also, the best thing to do against Mario off-stage (and most other hitbox recoveries) is counter.

Went A LOT more Marth then I did Link this tournament. So I figure this result is more relevant in this thread. I wasn't feeling confident with Link only staying him one whole set(the first one). The rest I switched to Marth and the last two sets I started and stayed Marth. Was happy with my performance though able to take a game off PsychoMyko (9th in PA, #1 at PSU) which I had never done before.
