Marth: Rivalries

Who do you think Marth's rivals are? Who from Brawl would make a good rival against Marth? And in your personal experience, any of your friend's use specific characters against your Marth?

For me: I have a friend who always will use Ice Climbers, but against my Marth (and this is virtually the only exception) he always picks Falco... **** those lasers piss me off xD

eh, yeah, falco and marth seems to be a very common matchup these days. When I think of a "rivalry" for marth I would say CF, just because of the famous Isai vs Ken matches back in the day, although these days I don't really see this matchup much.

I'm almost definitely sure that he meant the obvious hypothetical rivalry between Marth and Roy - both being from the same game series, having similar moveset, red vs blue, all those "obvious" things. If I were ZZKid I'd feel hurt, Cactuar =[.

Pretty sure another one is Marth vs Link, both in match-up, and the whole "whoz tha best swordszman omgz?" thing.

I always liked the Falcon v. Marth match up; both have amazing aerials and lack projectiles so it's always a brawl.

And the old Isai versus Ken matches were what made me really get into Melee

Exactly, of course Roy hasn't got a chance in hell against Marth ;D... but it's what could've been (and should've been)

the only reason people say roy is cuz of the clone **** also if the roy is a good tech chaser the match is a bit more annoying but marth has so many more advantages

most even match up is probably marth vs falco

Personally, I rarely lose against sheiks and some of my friends have good sheiks. I find that a decent Falco seems to be more of a challenge.
Any decent Marth should be able to beat another Roy player who plays at the same level.

You would be a new player for other reasons. It's not an offensive term. Even players that have been around for 5 years but haven't been on the scene can still be considered new if they are just now learning the true depth of the game.

Marth Rivials Would Be Falco, C. Falcon, Sheik and Link.
Even i as a roy player I Know that a skilled Marth Can beat up a skilled Roy.
But i always love fighting My friends Marth with my Roy.
Falco's SHL Is a probelm againist Marth. But marth can Chain grab Falco.
C.Falcon and Marth are about equal in my Opinion. Sheik...., im sorry but Sheik Owns Marth.....

Let me be the first to apologize for him: I'm sorry that he hasn't taken the time to play the Fire Emblem series, and delved into the backgrounds of each character in this game. Why, people like myself must be outright stupid for associating 2 characters we know to be from the same series - they're obviously nothing alike. Again, sorry to post in this forum without comprehensive background knowledge of the Fire Emblem series.

Rivaly implies that two opposing forces are equal or near equal in power/ability.

They have a "hypothetical" rivalry, as in, you see the two characters and automatically you go 'Zomg i wonder which one is bettarrrrr, onez red and onez blue and one has swtspot on the tip and one in tha middle of the blade and theyre both from this game series ive never heard of FIRE EMBLEM and you gotta play with one to unlock the other omgggg' . It's presupposed. Like brotherly rivalry. And, before I regret it, NO, OF COURSE THEY'RE NOT BROTHERS, I KNOW THAT.

I don't know why I bothered keeping this thread open; it was a stupid thread to begin with.

It only resulted in Cactuar putting people in their places, those said people getting offended because they were called a noob, and a huge marth vs roy stupid argument.

We also learned that, apparently, Kevin M sucks at chess.

Now you know why I close the threads that I do.
