:cool:hey guys i was thinking i make a thread for marths on map discussion. so yall ask away. my first question has to do with battle field. iis it stupid to edgeguard somebody from on top of the left or right plat? i feel like i have more options than they do and they always rush me some stupid way that i capitalize off of 80% of the time.

Depends on the character and the situation...
Some characters recover high, I guess it would be okay in that case. But if it's a spacie, get the **** down off the platform. lol

I would think stay on the plat especially vs a falco cuz he's got lasers. I always bait my self on plat quick shuffle and cancel into light shield. I used to always start my match off countering like crazi or spot dodging lasers for bait but camping plats definitely dominates against all the falcos I play. Plus I think you have somany more options while lightshielding. Not to mention when you lcancel lightshield you at your Max shield!!!

Definitely don't do this the whole game lol just kind as one of your random options ya know. Like any tactic you ***** the whole game you'll opponent will eventually catch on. Try as a start off or just experiment with plats. I myself am very Agro so I in face whole game but when I'm up a st0ck a pull ths out the bag. I'm left handed and am more comfortable with left plat whether is bf or dl or ps I'm always on left plat baiting.

Try to get consistent at power shielding, I am pretty good at it and it's so useful.

This is a good stage for Marth. Amazing for Falco to.
Marth can Fmsash tipper/utilt the platforms which can cut off a lot of recovery.
Marth makes it very hard for spacies to recover on this stage due to the ledge. Marth can just counter spacies if they don't perfectly space/sweetspot the ledge.
Marth can also Uthrow changrab in the center.
Falcon's are probably going to aim high when recovering (Like usual)
I THINK Dtilt is stupid with BF so you can Fthrow>Dtilt easier on the ledge.
I don't know anything about floaties lmao.

Hope that helped/outlined something.

When my opponent is coming back on stage you'll wanna try to stay mid map right under plat but more on inner map.(unless your feelin gimpy or can edge hog) by keeping your space you can dashdance or anything you want to. Just stay agressive, sh spaced fair to grab pretty gay but funny. Switch up amounts of dashes left and right. Dont forget battle field isnt the largest map so measure out your dashs and shffls to your advantage, especially with plats.I NeVEr go past two dashes. The main reason 4 this is if your opponent cathes on to your dashes then you must slow it down( not be agro and lose sway of momentum). If this happens then You'll have to passive it out unless your in a situation to c cancel or purposely take an aireal attack(***** but mostly on bigger or platless maps) to capitalize off of. I'll occasionally do two or moredashes* only WHen My opponent spawn back to try and juke opponent out.
