Marth sucks at getting back on the ledge. His options are very limited and people can camp him there if they can react properly.

From your reply I can pretty much tell you either didn't read my post or misinterpreted why I posted ^_^;;

You made a vid on what Marth can do while hanging on the ledge. I watched it. I just threw a random comment out there.

You're generally more educated than to make ignorant posts like this. Not only is this only half true (Marth has an exceptional amount of proactive and reactive options for ledge), but your statement is also half true for most character's without extraordinary recovery abilities.

Anyway, to the OP:

Nice. You've definitely persuaded me use the ledge jump more often. I've ALWAYS known it's something I should do, but this vid will probably help me break bad habits.

You can also air-dodge after ledge jumping (obviously)

You can also grab the edge again after ledge hopping without landing (obviously)

It's slightly important to note that you keep you lag from Dolphin Slash if you don't perform another action in mid-air before landing.

Nicely done though. Maybe throw in a spike from ledge and an actaul Bair edgeguard. Also, a Dolphin Slash stage spike.

You also might have wanted to show how on other stages that aren't Final Destination like Battlefield and FD, how Dolphin Slash and Fair are good for stage spiking. This works on FD too, but from Battlefield, you can trigger the Dolphin Slash immediately after the drop to stage spike a near opponent without worrying about getting caught under the stage.

Also, one of my favorite tactics, especially against edgeguarders, is to drop and up air, either falling or rising, or Uair through the stage.

That's about it. Still a great vid.

I made a little tutorial in about 7 hours, designed mostly for newbies but I'm more interested in getting critique from my fellow marth players.

Edit: i'm asking what people think of the video, not of Marth's ledge options
Great video =) I believe everything you missed/might have missed has already been mentioned, so I'm not going to worry about that.

I thought your cutting in the video was superb, and the length of time you left the text on screen near perfect.

Oh, and the techniques were nice, too xD

But really, I learned some new things. Thanks.

Hmmm, actually ledge hop Nair might be just the option that gives Marth a reliable tool to get back from the ledge.

Ledge Hop Nair, Ledge Hop Air Dodge, and Ledge Fair are about all I do. I mix it up here and there, but they're the most useful.

Well a lot of other characters suck at getting back from the ledge too bad Marth has to be one of them. Useful guide because although you could figure out all the things in the vid. Its always nice to have it right there so you don't have to take 5 minutes to think of everything. Good job.

Loved the song from Tsubasa btw.

ledge jump cancel + reversed dolphin slash looks very useful against snakes in high recovery

Ledge Fall -> second jump -> Uair -> Dophin slash -> Ledge is decent enough for getting people outta shield grab range. Then I land safely on the board. Not my only option, but a very reliable one.
