I was wondering about Marth's Deadly Death Maneuver.

Does this have any viability in competetive play? Is it actually worth going out of your way to grab them in such a manner as to have them dangling over the ledge? Although flashy it seemes to me that Marth has better options than the Deadly Death Maneuver when an opponent is close to the edge, or off the edge of the stage.

No, better off whacking them than trying to set up for something so useless. If the situation arose out of the blue by chance, then its a surprise move but other than that, no, don't bother.

The name itself grinds my gears too.

Gee, thanks...but how do you know me? lol

But it was pretty obvious as the tactic was simply pure surprise and its best to not try for setups like that, they just get you hurt or killed. Most marths would f-throw and go for a d-tilt on fastfallers at the edge so I suppose it could be used against the other types for a surprise edgeguard as they might panic but I wouldn't use it over a surefire combo that you know you can pull off.

Its just alittle surprise to add to your weaponry.

What I meant by trust is that you are a skilled player who gives solid reliable information, and I know you to be a constant contributor to the Marth boards.

Yay, you are too black to use such tactics.

Your white side has been abit under leveled, go do white things, like watch seinfield, then do it.

Honestly, keep yourself in balance.

wow, it looks semi-useful. I really thought this was a joke thread when i first saw it, lol. But fthrow, fsmash works just fine on the ledge. This is, however, a decent move and a guaranteed stage-bank, unless they tech it, which looks pretty hard...unless you're Viperboy or something.

Kudos for this discovery but, c'mon, "Deadly Death Manuever"? You could have thought of something more creative than that, right? :p

I should make some things clear.

  • First of all it is not a "joke" strategy.
  • Second of all, since this was found by a Kirby player the above is false.
  • Third of all, if Kirby had this I would exploit it for all it's worth - but this is Marth's. He already has a kajillion different ways of gimping.
Also, I must admit the following quotes made me LOL:

They work sometimes none the less, after all kirby can win..and hes a joke.
That is a blatant lie and you know it. Kirby can not win.
True, but sometimes the opponent loses before you can.
Not true, even if the enemy suicided four times before Kirby in a four stock match, Kirby would still lose.
The last quote in particular as I have in fact been in that situation at least once.

You'll notice I only posted this in the Kirby boards, not the Marth boards. So if the noobs get riled up don't look at me. lol.
