Tournament rules. Copypasted from ihatemybrother.

3 Minute Games
Best out of three games (equals one series)
Best out of 3 series's
Difficulty Level- Megastriker (5)
All Games must be played at the Classroom

NO GOALIE CAMPING
No insta-chips
No Cheats (as in game modifiers)
NO JOHNS, all moves are accepted besides the ones I banned

If a Disconnection occurs, then you will redo that "game" BUT it must be set back as it was when the person Disconnected. For example: If Chang plays Wang..lets say Chang is up 3-2 with 46 seconds left to play when suddenly and DC happens, then they will start up the game again and let eachother score until it is 3-2 for Chang again, and then wait till the clock goes down to 46 seconds left and let the game continue. Possession will be chosen by chatzy if it cannot be agreed upon. When a disconnection occurs, both players must use the same teams they were before the DC.

Captains are first-come, first-serve there will only be 8 participants, and each gets a captain. You cannot change your captain once the tournament starts, but you may trade before gams begin.

When you register, include your FC, Mii name, and your captain.
THERE WILL BE NO POSTS ASKING FOR THESES

A total of 49 FCs. It would be a good idea to PM someone you want to add, so that he/she gets aware of it, if he/she not visits this thread for a while. Let me know it if there are any FCs I've missed or if I should add more FCs.

NOTE: If you live in America, and try to add an European FC, that FC will probably be invalid for you, and vice versa.

I've disliked sport games, but I played the one on Gamecube once at a Nintendo Event. If the Wii version is aTenth as good as the gamecube one it's worth buying.

They say that it's far more better than the original Strikers to the GC. I can hardly see this game as a football game, more like a action-filled multiplayergame. Like smash but on a pitch and with goals instead of stocks. It's ridiculosly balanced and so fun even in singleplayer that it should not be missed. It's hard to describe the goodness in words about the online-capability.

It's a lot of fun...totally. My friend and I have managed to get our hands on a Wii and a copy of the game that works in the States and we spent like...6 hours playing it yesterday online. It's a TON of fun.

I'm not a big fan of Mario sports games (much less normal sports games), but this one kicks all kinds of ***.

Agree. One of my friends actually was at the top ten in Europe today! ^^ But I would want to see him loose with his luck. :psycho:

How does the online work?
It works like this: You can share individual friendcodes with your friends so you can play with them. But you can also compete in a so called "ranked" match where you'll meet a randomly picked opponent with the same stats as you. The opponent can be from anywhere, in my case, from all over Europe. If I'm starting a ranked match here at home, then the computer can find a likely opponent on the other side of the globe if needed too.. It goes very quick for the computer to find an opponent and then the match starts! You don't have to worry about bad latency. The computer acctually gives you information on how good the connection is so you can accept or reject. In most cases there's no lag at all.

EDIT: But ow, I forgot to mention that the Wi-Fi is not all problem-free, unfortunately. Sometimes when you log in (wich takes a LONG time to do, I'm talking about 2-3 minutes) an error message shows up with the text "Error getting stats" or "Error Code ¤¤¤¤¤¤ Disconnected from network during data transmission". This is very anoing and it happens often. sometimes you can't log in at all. Then the server is propably down because of overheat. You should've seen on the release day. I was lucky to even play half of the day!

The American servers work great. :-D.

Seriously, me and my friend have had no problem at all, with the longest wait for connecting being 30 seconds and connecting with someone else being a minute....at 1 in the morning.

I've had absolutely no complaints with its online mode.

Alright! I'd now say that I've grown in skill pretty much since release! (25th May) I can now beat computers of level 5, wich is the highest grade for the CPU in this game. And it should be mentioned that the AI in this game is absolutely outstanding. This is one of the most difficult games Nintendo has ever made. At least on the sportsgame-side. The computer uses item in the excactly right time needed, they use skillshots (individual powershots for each character) when you not got a chance to stop them, they trick you in almost everything (try to take the ball and you will propably end up somewhere in the crowd). I'd say that the computer acctually is far more skilled than most human players online. So if you was worried for an easy game, you don't need to worry no more.

I got the game in England at launch, and I love it. It's very addictive, I love the online system, it has a lot of depth and strategy and it shows good promise for SSBB's online (though it'd give further proof that SSBB Online if there, will be region locked)

BTW, my team is

Some guy at Gamestop in NC told me that this isn't going to be online. I told him it's online in Europe and he's like, yeah, it's not going to be online in the US.

Is this true, it's not going to be online in the US?

I WILL get this game. This is the highest rated Mario game. This will have a lot of action that can capture my eyesight for a long time! I also can't wait to pull off the Mega Strike!

I'm still deciding whether or not I really want to buy this game. I mean besides it being online, I'm not sure if it'll be worth it. I have 50 bucks for it, but I also need to buy something for my car. XD My priorities are screwed up on this one as I've been waiting for a fun online game, but my car isn't running and I need it to. >:E

Anyway, how are the controls? Are they smooth? And does it allow the use of the Gamecube controller?

Yes, yes, I know the GC controller use will take away the fun, but I don't want to suck too bad. :p

You can't use the GC controller, but you don't feel like you need it anyway. Controls are very smooth, though took ages to figure out that if you want to tackle other players (and not slide-tackle to steal the ball) you shake the Wiimote.

Get your car going, and then get the game.

Yeah...I'll probably have to rent it too...since I bought the stuff for my car. XD

Have 20 bucks left so I COULD always save it, but I think it's best if I rent it to see how the online mode works. Although..if it's good, I probably won't get off it. :p
