Your high school is nothing like mine. We only have 4 periods (each semester) and most of the subjects (in grade 9) are the most basic of basic.

Like science, math, french, english, geography, gym being courses you must take in grade 9 along with two electable courses. All courses (except electives) come in applied, academic and gifted.

We don't get physics until grade 11+ along with a lot of the other courses like world studies, calculus, chemistry and other stuff.

Anyway, glad you had fun on your first day at HS.

Because in our school, we do physics first instead of biology, chemistry, etc.

I actually have 8 periods. Today is just a special day cause its the first day of school, so theres 7 periods only.

I only have 4 courses and 5 periods until January when we switch courses and get 4 completely different subjects.

Still, I would much rather have 8 periods. At least your not stuck in the same class for 1:30 V_V

I prefer that 4 class/5 period day, the teacher normally reach the point where they lose stuff to do, and theres a lot more talking time. And yes, I'm in Honors classes.

Enjoy it. Even though it may seem like its not worth it with all the classwork...these are the best years of your life. Always keep your friends close, get involved, and you'll have a good time.

Well, it seems you're enjoying it, glad to hear. I honestly did not care for high school at all. At my school it was more about superficial relationships than about learning, half the teachers didn't even care and just liked being complete *******es. That and our principal cared a whole lot more about his reputation than he did about learning experience, at least college has been fun and useful so far.
