Hey I'm glad I found this thread before I joined. In fact its the reason why I joined. =D

I'm in East Boston, MA and sadly I got limited mobility. No car but I can take a train or a bus. Willing to play for fun and until I get better I'll start playing for money in any tournament here.

That would be nice, however, we can't reasonably do it untilwe have more get together between ourselves. Smashfests, tournament and all that. I'd love to sponsor it but I can't until we get more play with each other. Though obviously w/o any sort of competition we know the top 2 are Dj and Marcus. After that no one plays enough to accurately rank them.

There will be a smashfest at my house on Friday. I'll post it on the tournament section with more details, but i'll let you know what's going on.

I think this will be a good time to reunite the true Pilgram soldiers of MA to gather around and to step up their games TOGETHER. WE NEED TO BE UNITED! UNITED WE STAND!

RULES:
- Double Elimination
- All matches best out of 3, with best out of 5 for any finals
- 4 stock, 8 minute limit
- No items
- First stage random or agreed upon, further ones counterpicked
- Advanced Slob Picks (loser chooses stage, winner chooses char, loser chooses char)
- Random stages: Pokémon Stadium, Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Battlefield, Dreamland 64, Final Destination
-Extra Random Stage for doubles: Kongo 64
- Banned stages: Yoshi’s Island, Fourside, Hyrule Temple, Flatzone, Brinstar Depths, Icicle Mountain, Big Blue, Mushroom Kingdom 1, Venom, Yoshi's Island 64, Peach’s Castle, and Kongo Jungle.
- Banned doubles stage: Fountain of Dreams
- Team attack ON, items OFF

- Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character or indefinitely freezing them are not allowed
- Using tactics such as Peach's Wallbombing and Jiggly's Rising Pound to excessively stall a match is not allowed

about my idea, for all of us to get better and have fun
my crew meets every Monday at 4:00 PM at my house
and im exteding an invitation to anybody from MA
who wants to show up to play with us

i have 3 t.v's and i have space for 4 t.v's
and if enougth people show up we can have doubles
and singles tournaments with a small entry fee

my goal is that if enouth people got to
my smashfest's we can eventually have MA power rankings
it would be sweet, and it would provide something that
we can all work on

Alright there's gonna be a Smashfest this Saturday at WPI. As far as I know there's no tournaments going on this weekend. I had earlier posted the First Ever Drunken Smash Tournament, however my two main plans for booking a room fell through. However I found a place that could hold a bunch of people. However I don't exactly have enough time to make sure I've got enough setups for a tournament, so for now I'm gonna call it a smashfest. If everything comes together (enough people and setups), then we can have singles or doubles or whatever anyone wants for a tournament.

Date:
- Saturday, December 2nd (That's this coming saturday)

Place:
- Worcester Polytechnic Institute
- Worcester, MA
- Boynton St.
- Founders Hall

Boynton Street is wedged between Highland Ave and Salsbury Ave, Founders is on the corner of Boynton and Institute Rd. There's a big visitor parking lot right across the street from Founders Hall. The Hall is locked, but the lounge is adjacent to the entrace and there's tons of big picture windows, so you'll be able to see everyone and knock on the window and someone will let you in.

Space:

There is tons of space. If we had the setups, we could easily put 8 or 9 setups in this room with extra room to spare.

Setups:

Right now I'm sure we'll have at least 2 or 3 setups, but the main thing we need are more TVs. If anyone can bring a TV that would be great. Gamecubes will also be needed, but a TV is the main thing. Also if anyone has any portable chairs, like camping chairs, that would help too. I'm not sure exactly how many chairs we are gonna have.

Food:

The Campus Center is a 2 or 3 minute walk and they have Burger King and pizza. There's a few places also within walking distance. Dragon Dynasty, which has excellent, excellent chinese food. Boomers, which has pizza, subs, pasta, buffalo wings, etc. Pretty much anything you can find at an Amatos and maybe a little more.

Time:

People can start showing up around 12:30-1:00. If you want to come earlier, then by all means feel free, just let me know ahead of time by talking to me on AIM (RedSocksFan3) or send me a PM on smashboards. Note that if you come earlier, you may get a free meal, cause I'm willing to swipe in a few people to our cafeteria, since I still have a ton of extra meals on my meal plan.

We'll be able to play until basically whenever. There would be pretty much no time constraints, just whenever the people who brought setups, decide to leave.
