i didnt apply to SSBM now, genius, i meant when it was first announced. and im not applying anything about Jesus, who said i was christian? I was referring to God. Here's my take on this.

Christians insult me for just being a Christian. Essentially they are saying that they are right while everyone else is wrong. Not only that, but because you are wrong, you go to a place of eternal torment while they get to go to a place of eternal bliss. Now while this holds true for most religions, it is with Christianity that I've had the most experience.

I know I shouldn't make fun of religion, it's actually a very serious matter. Many have died over the belief in a god, and suppression of science has ruled supreme. The Dark Ages was a time when the Bible was the law of the land.

If I go to **** , then so be it. At least I'll be in better company. Maybe there I could conduct a spirited conversation with Thomas Paine, or Albert Einstein.

This is the only place I'd ever rant about theism though; most other places I would probably be met with hostility.

jet, who said anything about having to prove God wrong? It is you that holds the burden of proof.

Enough with the jokes, I'm in awe of the bible. That back in the day they were able to cover themselves with vague prophecies and the sidenote that, "Oh yeah, we won't be having aymore men from god (prophets), so you'll have to wait for the second coming (been waiting two thousand years) or to die." What a way to cover up the holes... Then science comes along and ruins everything. Proof that their wasn't a major worldwide flood. Proof of evolution. Proof the earth is older than seven thousand years. proof that dinosaurs existed much longer before man. proof that twinkies last forever.

Yep. The bible was great and all before we mest it up with logic and science.

We never say which God. A god is a myhtical beast, usually feared by peasants and it's slaves. Zeus was a god. Hera was a god. The christian religion simply calls their god "God". No one really knows if there is a God or not, and even if there was one, we don't know why he does the things he does. Why did he just kill Travis Doherty, who crashed into a tree because he was cut off by another snowboarder? He went to my pre-school, 1-6, and 9th grade. He died Sunday. On a Sunday, the "church" day! And also, on that same day, my friend found out that his cat, Whicket, who had been missing for a week, was hit by a car and died. Why would God do these things? We dunno. And something we dunno how it happens is bad to swear upon. err i hate these peeps who say all this stuff bout how god does this god does that. there is no god. im 100% sure. guarantee it. i know more ppl are juss gonna reply and give me more crap about this. religon is a human invention created because human beings fear death. we are the only thing on earth that knows its gonna die someday, and it scares us. thus, we invented religon to somehow explain it and that there is a life after death. this makes ppl happy so religon is a good thing, but wen people start saying ridiculous things about god, that pisses me off.

Actually, if you think about it logically, god's were made to explain unexplainable stuff. Zeus for Lightning and thunder back then. Nowadays we know it is electricity. Posiedon for the ocean. Hades for the underworld. They had no idea age killed people. They might have thought about it, but then they thought why would young people die? (they would die from new sicknesses). So they invented Hades and said he took them away. God was just a way to simplify everything: To make one God in control of everything. This way people wouldn't argue over who is the bette God, and they only needed to sacrafice animals and such to one God. It was just more conveinent. Of course, now we know that science can explain almost anything. It explained lightning, earthquakes, animals, etc. Right now we don't know how the universe was created. But we are getting close.

Lol my friend pulled the wind one on me. Wind is just air molecules at a fast rate. Heat causes air molecules to expand. Doing so causes them to diffuse. We all know about osmosis, active transport and passive transport, right? If not go back to 5th grade.

Anyways, the since air molecules diffuse into a lower gradiant, and since they do it at such a fast rate, we feel it. AKA wind. See, it's simple. All you need to know is a little biology.

Well anyways, I agree about the part about proving if God is real or not. It reminds me of something from A Beautiful Mind where the guy is asked is the Universe is forever. Yes. Any proof? No, but he believes it. And it turns out that that's what most people believe too. Same thing with God. Is there actual PROOF that he does exist? No, unless maybe you count the "insightfulness" that prophets like Moses and Jesus felt. But some people justify their actions as being crazy. It's just a matter of believing.

And I don't think religions were created to come up with an answer for death. Mostly Hinduism and Buddhism do (reincarnation anyone?), but the others are all more spiritual ideas. The afterlife is just something that happened to be included.

Well those are my 2 cents.

Its time to realise something:

You do not have the right not to be offended.
Some people feel that it is their god-given (If you'll excuse the term.) right to go through life without someone offending them. If they ever do get offended, the first thing they try to do is censor the person/entity.

Various works of art have been removed from museums, books have been banned, and radio shows taken off the air due to people that believe that they have this special right to not be offended. If you don't like what someone's saying, stop listening rather than telling them to shut up.

The universe exploded, several billion years later our galaxy was formed, several million years after that the Earth was formed, and it took 1.4 billions years before the first single-cell life forms appeared. They evolved into complex organisms, became dinosaurs, dinosaurs died out, and now humans rule the Earth. I don't believe Adam and Eve for an instant.

Noah's Ark? The Tower of Babel? Nope. I go against my religion sometimes. But it's people like Kuja and jet that will never accept anyone else as right that give Christians a bad name as being stubborn, ignorant, and people that won't listen to reason.

Please, don't think every Christian is as stubborn as them. I'm not, at least accept that. I'm doing my best to represent Christians as best I can, which are normal people, just like atheists. Not everyone is stubborn. Everyone needs to just give it up.

I've met plenty of jews, but few muslims. None of them tried to convert me. None. I've also met a fair share of budhists. Everytime I visit Japan! They never try to pressure me to do anything. Do you know what I have seen when I go to Japan? Christian missionaries converting the Japanese people into the evility that is Christianity. Oh, thank you for mentioning racism Ridley.

Do you realize how much blood has been shed in the name of religion? All types of believers - Christians included - have been killed because they didn't belong to a certain sect. Now if you're an atheist then this is complete nonsense, none of these people deserve death for just for being brought up in a certain region. I bet it wouldn't be so bad if religion could just change, like science. Otherwise, people will go on intrepreting the Bible literally and killing homosexuals, mistreating women, etc.

In case you haven't recognized my viewpoint yet, religion = murder. Don't get me wrong though, I am against theism, not theists. There is not one redeeming quality I can find in any religion that makes up for the history of pain and suffering.

You know, I think the thing is that it is mainly Christianity VS Atheism. Buddah, Jews, etc., they are in their own league. When it comes down to reason VS faith, it is Atheism VS Christianity. The thing is that, no matter which way you look at it, they are both going to exist. Although, right now, Xianity has the majority in numbers, athisim has the better proof. You can't justify anything with beliefs. Our world, our galaxy, our universe is built upon science, no one can deny that.

Think Matrix for a sec. Take one pill, and you wake up in your own little world, where you believe everything that was told to you. Take the other one, and wake up out of that, explore the world around you, and learn. Guess which one is which.

Another thing I find interesting is that the bible says that "Human knowledge is foolish". ......nuff said. If the Bible says that human knowledge is foolish, it clearly doesn't want you to go out of the boundaries of the bible and what is says. That means that you are supposed to listen to what others tell you and believe it. But in reality, you should only believe what you discover to be true. You shouldn't be confound to only what the bible says. There are so many different possiblities out there, and you are sticking to some old, translated from different languages, bloody book that has a lot of morals that were ok when it was written but are now against the law. You aren't going to send 42 she-bears to rip kids to shreds for making fun of a bald guy's (Elisha) head, are you? No. But God did.
