Aaaaah so that's what it was. Why didn't I understood that it was from Codename Steam, as I noticed Trouble Brewing ... Anyway it will probably play on the FE stages, and I love hard rock and metal so that's a big plus.

yeah r89 is the steel diver song. i believe the song name translates to "Hope in the Heart"

I'm still amazed by the fact we got some Codename Steam, and 4 tracks too (although 3 are FE songs). And I cannot stop loving that Ring Dong Dang song from Style Savvy.

I like almost every song we have so far, but not gonna lie, I'm kinda disappointed in how skewed the remixes seemed to be compared to even the last game. I'm very surprised to see how few remixes Mario and Kirby got as well. In addition, series like Wario, Sonic, Bayonetta, and Xenoblade got no new music at all, when the music from those series is very popular.
That being said I am happy that some series like DK are getting more love than in the last game.

i think to be fair, in cases where they couldn't add a lot of remixes (mario, splatoon, kirby) they added some source tracks to help fill in the gaps so it doesn't feel AS bad

I have mixed feelings. The soundtrack we have is amazing, but I'm a bit disappointed that the Earthbound remixes are just of songs that were already remixed for Smash. And "Battle Map 5" not actually being in the game is really bumming me out. Twilight of the Gods was my most wanted Fire Emblem song, and the fact that it got skipped is just kinda eh. Honestly I feel like the FE music in general is kind of a mixed bag. I like Heroes but I don't know that I would have given it two remixes.
This sounds incredibly negative and I apologize. I actually really love a lot of the music. I'm just kind of in that bummed stage that you learn that things that you really want are deconfirmed. I'm sure I'll feel better once I've listened to the Vs Zinnia and Crocodile Cacophony remixes a million times, lol.

yeah that's true, a few of the new remixes (like lost portrait and aquarius) are listed under the HoD section. same thing with the fortress boss theme from mario world, which is listed as the remix from NSMB2

First of all, my apologies for going inactive all day, I was preoccupied with other things. I wish I could have been on here experiencing everything with you!
I totally wasn't expecting the whole soundtrack to drop so soon. Its kind of bittersweet: obviously I'm super excited to listen to all of the full songs in crystal clear quality, but it was really fun hanging out here searching for bits and pieces of new songs!
Its been a blast discussing and speculating music with all of you. I really tried to do everything I can to make this the best thread for Smash music fans, I hope you all had fun! I'd like to thank everybody who helped contribute to this thread - I'm a busy university student who really couldn't have done it without you all!
I'll write up a post with my thoughts on the full soundtrack sometime tomorrow, but I want to deal with a couple of things first:
- Should I update the original post with the complete song list? I want to do it for the sake of completion, but at the same time - that's admittedly a rather huge chore. Plus, websites like SmashWiki will probably have the full list written up before me. But it would be a shame to not finished what I started, what do you think?
- I want to make a complete "Best New Smash Ultimate Remix" poll with all the new remixes. I'm wondering: should I update the current one and just add in the remaining remixes? Or make a completely new one and start from scratch? I feel like a lot of people wouldn't end up retaking the original poll, so making a new poll might be more accurate, thoughts?

I always loved most of the music in that game, but Sand Ocean was oddly special to me. This remix captures the essence and surpasses the original. Wow, man!
