Lion vs Tiger

ok, I know a lot of people wonder who would win between these two beasts in a fight. This fight will be between an African Lion and an Amur Tiger and they will both be males. Before we start the debate here are the sizes of the two fighters.

African Lion: Size: Head and body, 4.5 to 6.5 ft (1.4 to 2 m); Tail, 26.25 to 39.5 in (67 to 100 cm)
Weight: 265 to 420 lbs (120 to 191 kg)

Amur Tiger: Size: 10.75 ft (3.3 m)
Weight: 660 lbs (300 kg)

the fight will take place in the Gir Forest to be fair since none of these types of lions or tigers live there.

The lion, it'll run circles around the hefty tiger. That is, unless the tiger actually lands a good smack on the lion, then it'll flip to the tiger being in favor.

a tiger is more agile and is a faster sprinter than the lion. the tiger fights on both feet. lions paw swipe putting their whole body to it, so a lion can easily be put of balance by the stronger tiger. the tiger is also stronger pound for pound.

Well let's look at the advantages that each cat has.

Tigers are more agile, and have stronger back legs than lions, giving them greater leaping ability. They are also faster, which obviously helps when fighting. Tigers also have larger canine teeth, longer claws, and bigger paws. This coupled with it's strong back legs will allow it to attack with its claws while resting back on its haunches.

Lions are more powerful, brute force attackers. Lions have stronger shoulders and forearms, which means that their claw strikes would be more powerful. A lion's mane is very interesting. It can be used defensively, because all that hair and fur will protect its neck from being easily ripped open. It can also be used for intimidation purposes, because it'll look larger than it is in actuality. Another intimidation factor is the fact that lions are taller than tigers.

In the end, I'd have to go with the tiger, it's agility really helps it, both offensively and defensively.

Tigers are the better fighters, but lions can use teamwork, tigers don't.

The fact is, the lion has slightly more massively built shoulders and the tiger has more developed legs. Overall a tiger is more massively built than a lion. Even pound for pound, a tiger has anatomy-advantage over a lion in the forequarters. this is from the link u sent me and its true but the tiger is stronger pound for pound, the lion is the weakest big cat pound for pound.

@ZeroBeat: Faithkeeper doesnt know what hes talking about. he didnt even read my thread, he probably just looked at the title becasue my thread is about who would win 1 on 1. a tiger would in my opinion beat a lion. the tiger is stronger with the added weight and pound for pound. the tiger is more agile and has a larger bite force, claws and teeth. the tiger fights on 2 feet unlike the lion, so the tiger has more balance.

That being said, I'll say what I said in the PG Thread. Lions would totally win. Tigers are Asian, and nobody likes Asians.

what kind of arguemnet is that RDK. first off all to all asians who r reading this dont mind him. he just likes to make fun of people. anyway..... a lion is smaller, weaker pound for pound and cant fight as well.
