Every game Link has been in, he’s always had diferent abilities, diferent tools, diferent outfits, and Brawl isn’t any diferent. We can clearly see that Link has changed to his Twilight Princess form, and his previous attacks have been changed around to suit this.

Needless to say, todays update is Links Special Moves.
<strong>Forward Special</strong>
Links Boomerang. As in Twilight Princess, Link now uses the Gale Boomerang, which blows the competition away, or to be more accurate, blows them to you. When the Boomerang returns it lightly pulls your oponent (or teammate if playing teams: Co-op recovery!) towards you.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/link_070820a-l.jpg" alt="Mario's such a smart-*** riding the Boomerang like a surfboard." />
<strong>Down Special</strong>
Links Bombs. You pull them out and throw them. They also explode. They’re the style that are made by Barnes, the bomb maker. Yeah, look, they’re bombs. That’s good enough of a description.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/link_070820c-l.jpg" alt="Did I mention bombs hurt?" />
<strong>Forward Special</strong>
Spin Attack. Unlike the spin attack in Melee, this time it’s chargable. The question I know I’d like answered, is it chargable in mid-air, and if so, is any posible increased hight worth the time falling to charge it?

<strong>Grab</strong>
The claw….THE CLAW! *Ahem* In Smash Bros 64, Link used his Hookshot to grab oponents. It was horribly short, easy to miss, and worse, <del datetime="2007-08-20T07:27:44+00:00">if you missed</del> when you missed, it had horribly long recoil, leaving you wide open for anything.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/smash_screen012.jpg" alt="Comment added underneth instead so people who normally miss these don't get all 'WTF!' at me" />
That’s a grab people.
In Melee it was thankfully quickened, both in firing it out and recalling it, given extra length (Though Young Link’s was about the same as SB64’s Link) and was given the new ability to be able to grab the side of a stage with the hookshot and pull yourself up, giving you a new way to recover. (With the bonus of being able to then use your Up-B to recover again afterwards.)
Now in Brawl, once again Link uses his Hookshot. Or he would, but in Twilight Princess, he didn’t have a Hookshot, he had the <em>Clawshot</em>, which, while performed mostly the same as the Hookshot did (with the added ability to hang onto walls/roofs) but was made so much better by being a claw. It’s a freaking <em>Claw</em>. Which he now uses <em>to grab people</em>.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/link_070820e-l.jpg" alt="Even Link loves the claw! Look at that evil grin there." />
And as before, it’s used to recover by grabbing the side of the stage (with his <em>claw</em>) but now with added help.
<blockquote>You can use the Clawshot to perform life-saving tether recoveries by aiming at available ledges. It was difficult to aim in the previous game, but this time it automatically flies to the closest ledge, so it should be pretty simple to use. Of course, it doesn’t mean a thing if it can’t reach its target…</blockquote>
For those panicing, it looks to be the same length that Melee’s Hookshot was.

<strong>Neutral Special</strong>
It’s a Bow.
<img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/link_070820b-l.jpg" alt="Oh yeah. With Arrows." />
