So I attended my first tournament today. I faced a Zss and lost 0-2 and then played a Roy and lost 0-2.

Interestingly, I ended up playing Mostly after my Link Failed hard in doubles and Singles. I generally did better in friendlies with Bowser against anyone not named who I can probably use Link for.

Dark Souls 3 NG+ run:
It's much easier the 2nd time, even with buffed enemies. I broke out from the well rounded build with most stats in the lv20s and got my intelligence up to 60. This way I have something powerful to fall back on and can use int scaling weapons. I'm at the Grand Archives atm.

This time through I'm trying to do sidequests I missed the first time. I chose the Londor path with Yoel's darksigns and Yuria; apparently marriage means human sacrifice to them . This will be my evil playthrough but killing that cheeky b****** Orbeck made me sad. That guy was great. Greirat dying in Lothric also sucked. TBH IDC about Anri .
I did the good path through Seigward and Irina's sidequests so I'm not all bad. The first time I missed most of Sig's and gave Irina dark tombs that depressed her and that caused a misunderstanding where her friend attacked me.

I'm playing the Ariandel DLC for the 1st time and only have the final boss to do:

Very fun and challenging DLC. Nothing gave me too much trouble until the Friede boss battle. 3 phases?! Holy c***, not even the Nameless King had that. I only got to the 3rd phase twice so far. The first was a huge pain until I realized not to play her game and attack aggressively with some pyro thrown in. She wrecks defensive playstyles but has bad poise. Her stupid command grab special sucks and can quickly end the fight if my dodging is off. The 2nd phase looks really cool but is the easiest imo since my strengths are of a ranged spellcaster and the phantom helps a ton. The Dark Flame form will take some time to learn the patterns of and having to repeat the first 2 phases is a pain in the butt. It's a very punishing fight all around.
It's hard to prepare for since the bosses use frost, fire, physical and dark.

I read about a trick to level up by farming the 3 sumo-angles with Rapport and have been toughening up.

edit, I beat Friede a second time in DS3. Like all bosses it's much easier the 2nd time when I know how it goes. The only boss that gave me the most trouble was the Twin Princes. More than Nameless King and Friede.

What trips me up is the warping. I try to circle but Lorian readies moves while he warps and it breaks the lock on. Then I take a big stamina hit blocking or roll, often in a bad direction to punish him or them. I have trouble getting past their stamina management as Lorian mixes his combos up and leaves little vulnerability. I end up always playing defense. Lothric's not a big issue but his extra options do complicate the fight more. I ended up beating them with a drakeblood GS and soul arrows. That way I could attack from long or close range and not waste stamina trying to get in if they were too far.
I can do okay vs Soul of Cinder and Nameless King but for some reason the Princes are hard to manage.

the warping can be predicted depending on what moves he uses in a string. also a fun loop you can do on him in both phases is get behind him so he does his turn around attack, roll through behind him and hit him once and he'll do his turnaround attack again and repeat. can keep this up till your stamina runs out quite consistently. this boss really doesnt have a lot of moves at all, probably the smallest moveset of any boss in the game? so it should be easy to get a download on him.. anyway go do a run where you dont use magic or shields and do melee + rolling only
