So I was wondering if it's normal to play in lightning mode in melee (and brawl, altough I play melee atm).

Sorry for starting a whole new thread for a silly question, but didn't find anything by searching.

Thanks.

Thanks for quick answer :)

I myself think it's way too fast, but all the professional players play so god damn fast I can't tell the difference.

lol no they don't play on lightning mode in tournament. Tho it does look like it until you adjust to the speed of melee compared to brawl (competitive brawl is faster than casual brawl too, but it's still slower than competitive melee)

also tiny melee with advanced techs is a ton of fun :awesome:

Lightning mode is a way for dedicated casual players like me to simulate tournament speed and thus build up the speed of reactions it requires, without actually having to have opponents capable of tournament level play. Plus, it helps stop me owning level 8 and 9 AI quite so bad.

Still though, it's mostly pointless TBH.

Overclock training isn't pointless. If you play Lightening mode enough (i.e. to the point where it seems "normal"), your reaction times to things in regular mode will improve.

However, it's detrimental to practice anything technical in lightening mode, as your timings will be thrown off when you go back to regular mode.

It's still fun, though.

Playing lightning Melee, then switching to regular Brawl, is so hilarious, everything seems sooo slow >.>

I'm relieved. Have practiced the last month in lightning mode, and now as I switch back to normal, everything is easier :)

But how about competitive brawl? Normal mode is like super slow-mo compare to the videos I've watched online.

Training in Lightning Melee is alright at very low levels of play, but as you improve, it will affect your muscle memory.

After playing in lightning Melee, I always have the feeling that the regular game is way faster than usual. But despite that, I feel like I can see more options and execute my moves more fluently.

This might not be a very good thing to do before a tournament, but I find it interesting.
