SOV came out last year. Celica was less relevant then Soren. With SOV and Heroes she got popular again. Unless you are a hardcore FE fan and played FE2 no one gave her any love.

Funnily enough Gothitelle was on my main team back in gen 5, but it's been ages since I've played lol.

Same. I don't believe any leak that comes out until proven (though, I want to believe it when it mentions Isaac as playable. Don't we all. Haha). And it gives us something to discuss while we wait for the next Direct.

I don't want to come off as offensive, but what is with all the hype around Issac? I know that he could have a very unique fighter, but tons of characters could be equally and more unique than Issac.

I think the best thing to do with the "CEO leak" is to sit and wait on it.

I do think the Vega leak is legit, but his insistence on not knowing which Pokémon is playable is rather funny. It's a predicament we had in Smash 4 funnily enough. Such a weird case of déjà vu.

We, the Isaac community, are way more aware of such thing as fake leaks. Smash 4 "leaks" being a good lesson to learn from.

Best way to control a leak is start a leak. I think that's what we have. True info mixed in with fake info. Only time will tell as with any leak. Next reveal will def expose the leaks!

Does anyone know K. Rool's popularity in Japan? It struck me that the newcomers have been very Western orientated. With the exception of Inkling which is Nintendo's newest break out series, Ridley definitely is more of a Western fanbase, they had to add the Richter alt so that Simon would appeal more in Japan, and K. Rool also struck me as more popular in the West than East simply because he was created by a non-Japanese company. I only bring this up because it seems Isaac is definietly more popular in the Americas/Europe than Japan as well. With so many Western popular characters already, maybe the rest are going to be more Japan favored which might not bode well for Isaac.

It's definitely not just Smashboards. K. Rool and Isaac were everywhere during the ballot.

K. Rool was arguably the most popular Japanese ballot pick. DKC is very popular in Japan and K. Rool has been a longtime request there.

I'm not sure if they would outright reveal a trailer at Gamescom. It's more likely they would just announce a date for a trailer reveal at Gamescom. If they revealed anything at all.

If i recall correctly, an Arms character (Lola pop I think) was revealed in Gamescom… They could do it for Smash to, is what i would like to believe.

Yup. They announced the Smash Direct date at EVO. So it's possible they will do the same.

I didn't consider EVO too soon given it was two months or so after E3. They can easily reveal the remaining newcomers in September/October/November.

A September General Direct seems super likely given the timing and lack of info for Nintendo's online. They would definitely announce someone in it.

That's what I was thinking. The reason I feel skeptical about it is that two directs/trailer drops in one month would give the impression that they had more newcomers to reveal than we originally thought.

It's absolutely normal to spread the reveals across the months and not spoil them all up in one single reveal or two. Otherwise the wait would be torture for us, lol. So yeah Gamescom, early september, sometime in october and finally November are each a chance for a reveal. It all depends on how many newcomers are actually left to be announced… which of course we don't know

Not only i think it's a dumb leak and a lame inclussion for Smash, but it also doesn't have any evidence anywhere solid for me to make me believe it.

Check out the Gothitelle thread if you want more info, but the reason people believe it is because it's another one of the few leaks that have been right up to now. and it makes sense that if they include Gardevoir, that Gothitelle would be the only one capable of being an echo for her. That's about it.

If I remember correctly, it's the only one that predicted Richter coming along too.

The main reason people are paying attention to it is due to it coming out before/around the e3 presentation and claims to have gotten their info straight from the demo code. So far nothing they've stated they found has been wrong plus the fact that they claimed Richter was playable adds more credibility to them. We just have to wait and see.
