I see in videos where marth is hanging on the ledge and does some sort of short hop from the ledge and does a nair and grabs the ledge again. how do you do that?

When hanging on a ledge hit back so that you fall off, then immediately do a double jump followed by a nair/fair. If you don't want to get back on the stage then don't DI forward.

Steel's right. Basically, there are a few things you can do when trying to get back from the ledge:

1) Roll on. Just tap right(though I usually just use this for edgehogging)
2) Attack on. Press a/b, w/e and you'll do an attack as you get on
3) Ledgehop. That big *** jump you do from the ledge.
4) Normal jump on. If it doesn't seem like any of the first 3 situations would work out for you, go with this one. Like steel said, press back and really quickly do your double jump with an attack. Most of the time it's pretty safe to do =].

It's pretty useful. I used to use a similar thingie as Fox in melee. Jump backwards and illusion forwards, hopefully catching them off guard.

I also like to do the same thing but to use fair instead of nair. It seems more safe as I'm moving forwards + I can start another chain of fairs from there. While doing that I get back on the stage of course.
Watch out though, I was practicing against my Samus friend, and eventually he caught on to what I was doing, he tricked me and did his dtilt, and since there are no invisibility frames, I took a hit. But once again, that was a joke fight. Besides you shouldn't use this too often in a match anyway. Marth's tend to stay on platforms most of the time unless edgeguarding.

We need to come up with a name 4 that...
It should be... The Aefredge pronounced A-frej by combining Aerial, from, and Ledge. Yay!

Oh and for your signature, I believe that the word is

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia

not

Hippopotomonstrosesquipdialaphobia

you missed a "p", misplaced the "i" and made the "o" into an "a"

Directly above you tipping a dair.
Legend of Dragoon IS the best game EVAR! I never got to play the whole thing tho becuz my uncle gave me the game without the first disc.:(. I played a demo tho so that was ok.

P.S. Aefredge sounds good to me as long as you call forward+b to dolphin slash the "wind scar". :) Oh, and nair is actually the "backlash" so you know.

Naw, I don't think there is a need for a name for such a thing. Its just a ledge drop basically.
Thats like calling a short hop : "maneuver that grants you an ability to pull of arias while still being low to the ground"
or shorter: MTGYAATPFAWSBLTTG.
Ya see my point?

so why not call it Afredge instead of
"maneuver that allows you to perform aerials off of the edge of the stage"
Its easier i think:ohwell:
