Late January 2024 Nintendo News Roundup

January_2024.jpg

January 2024 came by and went without a Nintendo Direct. However, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any interesting news. The latter half of the month had a ton of information drop on first party Nintendo Switch titles. So, let’s take a glance at what’s new!

First up, Mario vs. Donkey Kong got some new footage. The revamped opening cinematic was shown off, and of course, we also got gameplay. There was stuff like the casual mode, a two-player feature, and a new take on the bonus levels. Additionally, on the last day of January, Nintendo released a demo on the eShop! Mario vs. Donkey Kong will launch on February 16th, 2024. And speaking of launch dates, Another Code: Recollection’s already happened. The game came out on January 19th, 2024!

As far as trailers go though, Princess Peach: Showtime! also received one. It was focused on her transformations and it included some we haven’t seen before too! Notably, Peach can transform into ninja and cowgirl forms now. Princess Peach: Showtime! launches on March 22nd, 2024, but it won’t be alone. Nintendo’s releasing some pastel pink Switch Joy-Cons that’ll temporarily be available, starting the same day.

Another big game to get some juicy new information was Splatoon 3. More specifically, its DLC, Side Order finally got a release date. It’ll be released on February 22nd, 2024! And F-Zero 99 got a new update on January 24th, 2024. This update added some new secret tracks, and the ability to set up private lobbies.

There was more than just game news too. For starters, the Noah and Mio amiibo released on January 19th, 2024. Secondly, The Legend of Zelda Orchestra Concert is going to air on February 9th, 2024. Fans won’t have to wait long after that to hear more music though. A Splatoon 3 Deep Cut Concert is scheduled the day after the Zelda one, on February 10th, 2024. Both of these will be available for viewing on Nintendo’s YouTube Channel. Finally, Nintendo announced that they’re bringing the Super Nintendo World park to Orlando, Florida. This will be part of the Universal Orlando Resort and is slated to be completed some time in 2025.

Author’s Note: I think the new forms Peach got are pretty sick. And, I'm pretty excited to hear that Zelda concert later. But what about you? Please let us know in the comments below!
