Knuckels would be cool, but no. I doubt they'd put more than one one 3rd party character from the same game in Brawl as a playable character. They might make him an Assist Trophy, but I'm not even expecting that.

I don't believe that 3rd parties should have more than 1 character from the franchise, let alone the company that makes the franchise.

But on the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing a Knuckles assist trophy.

I say no to Knuckles because he's a waste when we can have a character like Megaman, Tails would probably get first anyway.

I wish he could be - I like him even more than Sonic, and Sonic was my #1 most wanted character for Brawl - but its just not possible this time around. There are too few third-party characters being allowed in, and he'd only come third as a Sonic choice (after Tails, Sonic's sidekick and best friend since his second game). Maybe in the next SSB.

Last I checked, the trailer we got with Sonic indicated he'd be working with Mario during Subspace Emissary.

Actually I am. Having 2 third party characters is a weird number. I think it's likely they will round it off with 3. Snake just got in because of Kojima, but Sonic and Megaman are pretty much the two next biggest names in videogames besides the first party Nintendo ones. There will definitely be no clones or other characters from third party titles. The golden age, or at least birth of Megaman was on early Nintendo systems. I think there is actually a decent chance he will be in, but no way anyone else.

Sorry, chances of Knuckles getting in are slim to none. I could see him as an assist trophy, maybe even some part of SE...but Sega isn't going to have more than 1 representative, much less more than 1 representative from the same game.

No way in hell is Sakurai going to show any favoritism towards a company. He said about 3 spots for 3rd characters so there is going to be one representative from 3 different companies...that only seems fair, don't you think? Maybe next game.

Of course. Don't you remember this image from the "team mode" update? Theres a lot of room in those selection bars for large parties of characters.

Besides, one of the hints about the mode we received from E for All was that, in the end, all of the characters would need to work together to emerge victorious.

In his journal he mentioned, albeit in an indefinite manner, that we may expect to see 1-2 third-party characters, not including Snake. There may be more, but he definitely deliberately set the number low. I would bet we don't see more than 4 at an absolute maximum.
