I know I am gonna be called judgemental for saying this but it needs to be said when you have someone who brags about putting up animal porn on their page it gives us a bad rep.
If i was a father and my kid went to a evo event and their say this dude with a wolf costume on preaching to people i would know the line has been crossed. I see this in sports to where just cause someone is so good in a video game they let them do whatever they want. There are kids in e sports. You can tell when people interview him they know this is wrong but they have to do it cause its their job. Yet this is just my opinion and i do not hate this man as a person but the way he acts with children around I disagree. What are everyones thoughts. Again this is just my opinion.

Are you talking about a furry? Cause spoilers, more Smash fans than that are furries. Some are open about, most aren't.

And what bad things has he done around children? That's a better thing to zero in on.

Uhh, citation please? I don't follow SonicFox so I can't be sure but this seems unlikely. Anytime his stuff ends up on my Twitter feed it's incredibly wholesome. After losing to GO1 in EVO grand finals, he gave his opponent applause and raised GO1's arm in the air. Regarding your concern for kids, he also gave a child his 1st place CEO medal (source: https://mobile.twitter.com/SonicFox5000/status/1145484182426202117) and encouraged him to play fighting games.
Could be missing some facts here but SonicFox seems like a bizarre person to be worried about. From my perspective he consistently displays excellent sportsmanship and is a strong role model for multiple minority groups at the same time.

Thank you guys so much for being able to have a mature conversation about this with me. I will be honest I dont approve of the whole furry thing but if he just kept that to himself i would have no problem with him. I do not know him and you are correct did donate a lot to charity. I just let the fighting game community community decide how they feel on this issue because i know they are split. Thank you guys for giving me some insight and I highly respect your opinion.

With the exception of illegal stuff, no one needs your approval for their fetish. That's being just the fundamentalists who act oppressed when they can't force other people to follow their religion's rules. It's an extremely condescending and judgmental attitude to have against something that is ultimately harmless.

I'm sorry. But this needs to be said as well.
Animal porn? Where is this animal porn you are speaking about? And if so, what's wrong with someone being into something that they like. I do think a better term is Yiff or just adult furry artwork, because it could be caught off as the same as zoophilia, as animal porn is too vague of a term.

It just seems like you are making it out to be he posts NSFW content on his twitter, as that is the only social media he posts really actively on, which he doesn't as far as I know of..

The preaching bit. I'm sorry, but that is super ignorant for you to even mention. He does not "preach" to people, and when he talks to kids, he knows the fine lines when it comes to children. There is even a instance, that he spoke to a kid and promised him he would give him his trophy if he were to win the tournament, and sure enough he won and fulfilled his promise whenever he did see him.

I really dislike it when people spread misinformation and spew out nonsense, without actual proof and expect people to just roll with it.
People such as yourself with your actions are not good for Esports or Smash scenes because you would just cause drama that is unwarranted.

There are facts and behaviros that should not be promoted heavily in a childrens friendly game. When you have a man who is promoting all this sick stuff when there are kids who play this game I have a right to have a problem. He is a role model now given his position and he needs to take some humility that role. Being a furry is harmless but bragging about it and broadcasting your fetishes for the whole gaming community to see is not. If this was any sport like football or baseball people would have a problem. This is a sport and not even talking about religion its proben in science that these behaviros can mess people up. There is no way someone is gonna tell me that this man is healty for the community. JUding is not always wrong. it has to be done for truth to be said. I dont get how you guys can defend him.

Again, where is your proof? He does not announce to the world his fetishes. And now you are saying Smash is only a children's game, which is not. The game is centered for ALL ages. And what is wrong with saying "I'm a furry" and announcing it to the world. Is having a spine, dignity, and self-pride wrong?

People like you stop others with low confidence from doing what they love and hinder them from growing. We're not in 1980s, in 2019 people are actually having more independent thoughts of their own, able to express more freedom, without restriction of groups of "normal" people to bash/judge on them and their ideas.
All he does is post on twitter furry artwork, his interests in games or media, and life content. Exactly what everyone else does on twitter.
None of his stuff is even NSFW.

At this point, I solely believe you are a just a person that is merely afraid of something you don't know at all, and instead of actually having a more general perspective of it or understanding, you want to thrash it to the ground and say it's not good.
Which is the most less intelligent and non sensible action for someone to do. This actually causes bullies or haters to exist as well.

Or you are a person that just hates furry people or content, because there is literally nothing he has been doing that is harmful or disgusting, and you can't even provide a shred proof.

My problem with SonicFox is his lack of humility. Maybe he changed, but Technicals made a video about him regarding his ego.
I agree he brags about everything and he is just a sick human being.

I am not. We have a standard of being professional in a professional sport. When I see a person go up with a wolf mask on while hes being interviewed and broadcasting to the world of his love of being a furry its not a matter of being judgemental. It has nothing to do with gaming. Yes if you are a profesional this and i wihas nothing to do with gaming. Thats just how I see it. If i do sound judgemental i deeply apologize to you i will drop it cause i see were are not gonna agree on this. Its not that im trying toI tear him down and yes i do have compassion a lot actually for all the crap he went through in life but this is a huge sport. I like professionalness to be in this. Yet that is just how i see it. You have opened my eyes about learning to except othes for who they are more regardless wheather i disagree with their choices. Thank you vary much for that. I really enjoyed our conversation and hopeyou win a lot of smash matches. god bless

For me its him being in a professional sport and giving speeches in a wolf costume and bragging about him being a furry. I say the furry lifestyle is wrong and many people would disagree with me which is perfectly fine. For me though whatever side people are on it has nothing to do with gaming and in a professional enviroment it just drops a bomb that i think does not mean to be dropped. From him posting pictures of himself half naked with a wolf mask on on facebook to him wearing that mask and giving speeches at evo its just un professional in my opinion. Its just my opinion though

I will be closing this thread as it seems aimed to taking shots at Sonic Fox simply for being a furry and nothing concerning how he plays, how he interacts with the fan base, or his tourney standings. We also have furry users here on Smashboards and calling him a “sick human being” (and by extension all furries) is horrible and wrong.

Also, please don’t multipost. You can use the edit function located at the bottom of your post. Just copy and paste what you want to quote into your edit text box.
