That's right, everyone, a new Klonoa title has been confirmed for the Wii this year. Well, not completely new, anyway. It's a remake of Door to Phantomile, but with some new levels and content, better graphics, and the like. Should be a good Wii title.
Discuss. :)

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about it. I'm just glad America's not getting the new Klonoa design.

Um, can anyone tell me what makes Klonoa different from a Kirby game?
Klonoa doesn't suck up his enemies to use their powers. Klonoa's only weapon is an "air bullet", which he uses to grab enemies and other objects (from a good five feet away) to use for leverage to solve puzzles and scale walls and what not to otherwise unreachable heights. Truly a unique platformer.

Interesting. You wouldn't happen to know how long the original was, would you?

I like longer games because they take more time to complete, which means I don't need to get new ones as quickly. For example, I only just finished the Platinum Elite Four even though I got the game at release.

No idea, but the GBA game was pretty lengthy. Never got to play Klonoa 2 on the PS2, but I'm pretty sure that both the original and this remake will have a good length to them. To say the least, I'm excited.

They're both supposed to be the same game, so they should be the same length (Klonoa Wii and Klonoa PS1). I didn't know there was a GBA Klonoa though.

I'll probably pick this up, but to be honest, it's because I've been forced to lower my standards more than anything. I got too obsessed with Brawl when there was the long game drought, so much so that I decided to quit playing the game for anything but lulz.

I really would like to see anything new score 90 or higher on metacritic. But the problem with that happening is that a lot of what makes a 90 game is technological. Nintendo Wii games in that range will always be rare because the developers can't fall back on the hardware power to help them make games.

I'm sure Klonoa is great, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick up a copy, but to be honest, I wouldn't even have noticed this game if I liked FPS's on the Xbox.

I heard that Klonoa is a dark storyline with a cute and cuddly exterior. If that's true then I'm definately going to pick up a copy. I wonder why Kirby games are always so happy right up until the last, usually completely horrifying final boss fight. If Kirby wasn't so happy all the time, it might not have the too cute factor. At the very least, I would like the music more.

You know, Klonoa looks a lot like a Sonic character. Except not as ugly, and somewhat stylish.

Neither Konoa 1 or 2 are particularly long. I beat both without doing any of the full completion stuff in about 15 hours. I will say though that both games are really unique and interesting platformers that if nothing else are fun.

I did gather that Klonoa is supposed to be an unusually dark story, and the scenery is simple the most colorful I've ever seen. The specifics of the mechanics are hard to grasp from the videos, but they look unique enough to keep me from thinking it generic, so I'm going to buy it. To bad it is said to be easy though, however, I do like winning. I kind of wish this came out on Nintendo first, in fact I'm surprised it didn't.

Although what I like best about it so far is Klonoa himself. He is simply the cutest character I have even seen, which while not a very manly thing to admit, makes me want the game, for the same reason everyone likes puppies. Incidently, is Klonoa a "he" or a "she"? (and how is Kirby a "he" exactly?)

Not exactly dark. It's just... sad. I won't spoil anything though.
The game's that good.

And yeah, this game made its debut on Sony first because of how much Namco was supporting the PlayStation at the time.

Klonoa's a guy.
And yes, isn't he the cutest cabbit you have ever seen?

Have any of you noticed that Klonoa has Pac-man eating a pac-dot on his hat?

I probably accidently spoiled anything you can tell me by looking into Klonoa. Sometimes I hate Wikipedia - constantly using spoilers in casual explanation of stories without even recognizing them as spoilers. Seriously, I use it to try to decide to buy a game, and it tells you essential plot points in the character descriptions. Which is especially annoying because I never buy an IP I've never played without researching it to see if it's good, often by using wikipedia.

So I guess he's a cabbit then.

Actually, yes, almost immediately. It's a nice touch.

The game came out today.

I was reading a few reviews, two of which said it was too easy and too short. In fact, I wasn't planning on getting it anymore until I read this: http://www.gamepro.com/article/reviews/210067/klonoa/

Since I like tough games, I need to know; as a first time Klonoa player, will it be easy or hard?
Hard to say but I do remember having a rough time with it when it was on the PSX. I believe it took me roughly around a week to beat the core game. If I recall correctly though the PS2 sequel was a fair bit easier (still an enjoyable game nonetheless) but if nothing else the first game should offer some challenge.

I'm glad that the remake was able to make it way to the US,I've played the original game before but could never find a copy to buy & keep.Great remake.:bigthumbu

The Pac-man on Klonoa's hat as been around since the second game.I thought it was very cool when I first saw it.

It was hard the 1st time on the PS1 version for me,but since I still remember everything from the(Fixed) original it got easy.I had finished the game the same day I bought the remake because of that.I do remembered having a hard time with some of the bosses back then.Ghadis,Baladium & the final boss mainly.

I've just now found this out about this, thought would have a spot on the map-Special hidden stages (they are hard from what I've read),hidden within the Reverse stages.

@Halloween Captain-Here a picture of what Klonoa was going to look like.Thank you Bandai-Namco Games for keeping his original looks!

Neat. Although I already knew about the re-design. Didn't like it; new Klonoa didn't have the cute factor.

Actually, I decided I'm going to wait a month or two on this game.

The problem for me is the combination of too short and some people claiming the main story is too easy. Even if it is an excellent 14 stages, it is still only forteen stages, and I'm still disappointed with Madworld's length. However, I have a gift card at a store that I don't generally go to, so I'll get it there when it's convenient. That might not be for a month or two.

I don't think this game will sell well. No public awareness, and the one copy I saw at EB games was on the bottom shelf and sideways, unlike a lot of the trash they have on the higher shelves with the front-side out. It's too bad, because I know this has to be much better than the "Monsters v. Aliens" game that has much more public awareness.

Same thought I had,he looks cooler the way he's been before the redesigned.

I tried the Special hidden stages yesterday.only got 3 medals from it so far,but man it is tough.:freak:It will have like on one of them a switch(there's 2 of them) that releases flying moos over a pool of lava, those moos will float there for a short time before vanishing & you'll have to reach the top quickly to reach it.

Lol,I almost forgot that Pac-man was on Klonoa's hat since the 1st game.I had rented the original PS1 game a long time ago & didn't see the front cover from the manual at the rental store.Hard to see it in the game sometimes.

I got Klonoa yesterday.

It's obviously a good platformer, but it's equally obvious that it's pretty short. Clearly shorter than the marathon of Yoshi's Island, although I haven't gotten very far in it yet. Very pretty. Makes me wish I could somehow make my HD TV non HD to play it. So far the best looking game I've played on any system in recent memory, although maybe not as good looking as Galaxy. Even better looking than Yoshi's Island, which while it is an odd choice of comparison, I personally view as a fair one - Yoshi's Island was the pinnacle of 2D analogue platorming, and this is a 2.5D analogue platformer.

I actually didn't know games came in short until recently. Too much experience with Nintendo I suppose. Almost all Ninty games seem to be at least medium length, although Luigi's Mansion are Pikmin are both relatively quick.

Primary strength - I have never played Klonoa before, so I don't know the levels. This means relatively easy levels can still provide challenge due to a lack of familiarity. I can't say the same for any Yoshi's Island, as I finished both Yoshi Island games, and I got 100% completion on the original (which I feel is more full entirely because the original has ten stages more, ten stages I somewhat expected in the sequel.) Unfortunately, I feel that Klonoa is going to end up being too short - it took me under an hour to finish the first two stages, and there are only 14 according to the box.
