lucky, everyone knows you're cool and everyone would like you to come but face the facts, it's an awkward situation you're asking everyone to be put in. long car rides are bad enough as it is, and watching our backs and our tongues every step of the way is not the business. and you yourself shouldn't want to deal with the **** talking and gossip mongering that you KNOW is going to occur, because boys will be boys. when you sign up for a serious relationship that's going to make you choose a girl over smash, then you should know going in you're going to get a lot of **** for it.

Also this is an awkward position but just put Cathy in the front lol. I've been in road trips with smasher and one guy and girl were going out. It isn't weird at all IF u dont make it weird, or is there something about Cathy I dont know and I should butt out of this socal drama.

that's why i flipped out on him today. just like in the UCLA thread when people say they're not going to come, THAT stuff more than anything kills tournies.

seriously, this is the smash melee community. we bring our own equipment, we run our own tournaments rapidly, and we make sure everyone has their **** checked. if something isn't right, then i'm sure myself or sheridan or [insert melee community member] will do their part and make sure this isn't going to suck.

people just have to stop acting like they can just do nothing, show up to a tournament and have it be amazing. if you really enjoy the game then start showing it, and put a little effort to make 100% sure this doesn't suck and we finally have another big tournament for the state.

I agree with Rom. Just let Cathy and Joey go. I don't really know Cathy but I think this has been made into a much bigger deal than what it is. And it's NOT that big of a deal.

Also, the tourney will be fine. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just dumb. It's already been announced that the tourney is going to be run by experienced TO's who've ran many tourneys before. Any speculation regarding the tournament being run poorly should have been lifted by now. So just go and have fun. It's going to be a good tournament.

i know personally i feel bad when i saw socal come up for Axis or all the people that came in for NCT2 i was ashamed that those tournaments represented the norcal community.

i may not be any good at this game, but this community is ****ing awesome and i want everyone to have as much fun as i do at tournaments.

but even if it means going against the will of the tournament organizer this melee tournament will be run soundly. there are are a number of well qualified people that can makes this tournament a success. and with socal coming up that increases that number greatly.

well, usually I keep my mouth shut if I'm not gonna head there, unless I want to say I wanted to go, and couldn't because of work. Which usually I don't do either, unless it's a major like UCLA (which I wish I would've went to).

only reason I'm not planning to show to this though is because, unless I get a ride, I'm not gonna take either one of these cars for 6 hours up to nor cal, to not have any housing or any good pals along the way, let alone taking my own car. Good luck and have fun to those who are going.

so don't play the game. but in the very next post you say melee is a drug, so you have two choices: ***** and whine about no one being as good as you, putting everyone down in the process and leaving no hope for however you would like the community to be, or admit you're addicted and cope with it by helping and finding people with potential, who still really do love the game, and playing them and helping them get better.

just *****ing about it solves nothing, you're still gonna be miserable and pissed that you can't have fun at the game. at least you're doing something about it with choice number two.

anyway zhu's really good, possibly better than you, so it's not like you don't have any competition.
