Some people say that K. Rool wouldn't be "E3 worthy." I thought that at first too, but then I remembered Palutena. Her reveal trailer was the final trailer showed off in Nintendo's E3 2014 video presentation. Sure, she was "relevant" at the time, but I doubt most normies knew who she even was. And Pac-Man of all characters was revealed behind closed doors. Yeeeeah.

I doubt K. Rool will be revealed at E3, but this whole "E3 worthy" thing seems like nonsense.

While king k Rool isn't my most wanted newcomer, anyone saying he isn't e3 Worthy is delusional considering how popular he is as a smash request. And ya, palutena isn't really a hype character at all.

Don't really think it has anything to do with Smash, or Sora in Smash as you suggested.
It was clear for a long time that Disney wanted the Mario Bros in Wreck-It Ralph. They just stated that such big characters needed better screentime, or roles than just a cameo or something like that, therefore they postponed their inclusion to the sequal, while Sonic became the more focused addition in the first one. At least of what I read, so I don't think it has anything what so ever to do with Smash, as it has been in the talks for that long. The confirmation of Martinet finally being placed makes sense. It was all in the cards, adn they could not have used anyone else, really.

It’s probably been said before, but I really do think that if Ridley’s in, then K Rool has to be in. At this point I really think you cannot implement one without the other because their stories are so similar. K Rool is constantly frowned upon for being “too irrelevant” while Ridley is frowned upon for being “too big”. And as a huge Ridley supporter, I’ll admit that K Rool will probably be easier to implement than Ridley would due to his proportions being similar to Bowser. And this isn’t even getting into how they’re both in the top 5 if not in the top 3 most requested characters together. It’d just be strange to include one without the other imo, and while K Rool doesn’t exactly hsve a concrete rumor right now like Ridley does (Besides what Emily Rodgers said but she didn’t name anyone specific), I really do think that if Ridley is confirmed then K Rool is a shoein.

Yea, it was really just fun speculation on my part. I doubt it's anything significant but with the lack of anything really to talk about i thought it was interesting to think. After all its probably the only interaction Disney and Nintendo have had and you never know what kind of deals are spoken of during those meetings.

And if Sora some how manages to make into Smash then K. Rool is a lock atleast according to that imgur rumor, which again i doubt is real but speculation is fun

The actual fact is that K. Rool has much more going for him than a supposed rumour on Imgur. Even if it was real or not, there is not that much that "should" keep K. Rool from entering this time. I'm not 100% convinced on anything, only the Inklings were true shoe-inn's, but I have a lot of faith in K. Rool, Dixie Kong and Toad in some form this time around. As always, Ridley hype is built, and it's crushed, same with K. Rool, but maybe? At least characters like Palutena, Little Mac, Xenoboy, and other All-Stars are already present and not going to be competitors for K. Rool this time around. The Ballot as effect also a great indicator. The Mii costume was only the start, and I really can't wait to see if K. Rool makes it in. At least my childhood dream from Brawl will come true.

I agree I've been of the opinion that K. Rool has too much going for him at this point... you never want to go all in because that leads to disappointment but it's hard for me see any justification for him not getting in.... I still see people talking about current relevance which blows my mind. He's had a Mii costume and a name drop in Mario Odyssey... still a lack of a true appearance but appearance's none the less.

Yes, this insider that seems a bit legit, called this list fake, because it has characters that are not in the game.
It seems he only deconfirmed Sora and Geno/Mallow, which is weird because I'd say there are other very unlikely ones probably not playable (like Porky, Goro, Medusa).
He probably just did not want to give a full list of the deconfirmed, and he is not leaking the game with what he knows.

So the Vergeben list is the last one not debunked yet.
(I don't know if Masked Man said any thing about that).

As for K.Rool that has to be in if Ridley makes it...well maybe they don"t want to give all the fan favorites at once, and keep a big one like K.Rool for the next game

That's correct I absolutely did misunderstand, the way it was described I thought this person had more info. That makes sense... if this debunker works for Square Enix than he would only know about characters related to the company.

I'd prefer announcements through a dojo like site with no specific character trailers. that way, every day one can go onto the site before accessing YouTube or anywhere else and get a fresh, unspoiled announcement.

This big guy is certainly long overdue for this series. He should have been here since Brawl, but Diddy really had to come first considering his absence in Melee. Sm4sh? Now that was disappointing, especially after all that Ballot stuff. Hopefully we won't be left hanging this time.
...I can't say for sure if I'd like K. Rool making his debut in Smash more than seeing his return in main games, but hey, having at least one of these two happen would be good enough on its own.

Can't say I'm too familiar with him since I never really played much DK back in the day aside from a little Country now and then.

Judging from the title update, there's no denying he's definitely become the new Ridley as a once forgotten main antagonist that's pretty much negalted by not only Sakurai but Nintendo as a whole, and being teased into a mere Mii Costume.

It'd be a damn micracle for him to return to the DK series let alone Smash, but frankly aside from the obvious reason that he as a main villian is needed in Smash, I frankly don't know what'll take for him to get his shot but Smash isn't really that new to reviving dead characters.

I personally think he would make a very fun character with a very versatile moveset which I'll get into next time I research the croc espically, since I never fought against him before.

Regardless, the Kremling King gets my full support!

All it says is Konami is (probably) making a compilation title for Switch and an action adventure title for the Switch, which could be basically anything, including for other titles they own like Bomberman.

I recall a discussion I was in about K. Rool during Smash 4 speculation that posited K. Rool having play dead be both his taunt and couch animation, setting up an opportunity for mind games in a tournament setting, making the opponent question whether you're baiting them, or just being disrespectful.

And then of course there's the fact that I personally hope playing dead and summoning the fake end game credits in the foreground is K. Rools Final Smash. A long shot, I know, but I can hope.

Honestly, I don't see how that would work. To fake a knockdown, he would have to be launched first (which might result in a death that could have been avoided). If that doesn't happen, it will be obvious that something is wrong.

I think in a game where get up attacks are a thing, there's no real way to implement this trick properly as anything but a Final Smash.

Not that many of us here would want to see this I'm sure, but I suppose a play dead attack could work as another down special counter attack, where the animation for the counter is his play dead, and his hit is him getting back up dramatically.

Personally, if not as his Final Smash, I wouldn't mind seeing the play dead as a taunt. hit down to have K. Rool feign a knockout, and get up a moment later. As you said, there's no way it would actually fool anyone, but it would be iconic and cheeky, as well as having ther potential to be one of the more disrespectful taunts in the game. I could see it being perceived as the person playing K. Rool literally sleeping on their opponent mid battle.

Since tournaments don't allow Smash Balls, and since Final Smashes have a dramatic animation to make clear someone is using their Final Smash, technically there's no reason why it couldn't be a Final Smash, as well as K. Rools down taunt.

Btw, there is an interesting topic on gamefaqs, talking about the most wanted characters in Japan, propably the key for making it into the Smash Roster.
Unfortunately it is hard to get an idea if you don't understand Japanese and go on their sites, we got few infos about.
But it seems K.Rool could be the N°1 most wanted, if not at least very popular.

Hope this feedback is true, I don't know if we can really trust Jeff_Mercer (from what I remember he made fake leak in the past ) I'd like to hear more about what japanese fans want.
