I'm really considering the game. If that did end up the roster I would purchase it right away.
Planning on getting Switch in August, and I was thinking 2 games, and pre-order Smash Ultimate.

I'mma call fake on that Mario Tennis one. Too many characters. Too much fanservice. The game is content starved as it is. We'd likely get a Goomba playable before any of those in the DLC. Becuase they would probably reuse the models of existing characters in the game. Sadly the most realistic ones on the list are Shadow Mario, Metal Mario, Dry Bowser, and Pink Gold Peach for similar reasons.

Are we having this argument of size again? In DKC series, DK and Diddy were basically the same size so realistically DK would be twice as tall or atleast 3/4 taller, putting him at basically the same height as K.Rool in the sequel (Only the first and third K.Rool iteration was really that much more massive, ) . And in games like DK64, the ending secret cut-scene had K.Rool the same size as DK.

K.Rool is basically whatever size he needs to be much like Bowser. If he doesn't get in smash, its likely not going to be related to his size.

We already knew about Diddy, Birdo and Paratroopa thanks to Japan's preorder bonus which showed the icons of those characters on a bag.

People's emotions are going up and down depending on whatever fake troll post someone added on 4.chan or reddit that day. And for what? The boring answer is we will have to wait until they announce more things to know about K. Rool's role in this game because every leak so far is probably fake. Even if there is a real leak among them, it's impossible to know which one is right so far and it's pointless to obsess over them. It just seems like twisting the knife on yourself.

Like I said before, bring it back to the fundamentals. We have reason to be hopeful thanks to the acknowledgment by Sakurai with the Mii costume. We have good reason to think, based on fan polls and community discussion on this site and others, that the costume was a response to K. Rool's popularity. He's one of the most requested characters period, Nintendo or third party. He was the only DK character to be acknowledged with a Mii.

That's not a guarantee he will be playable. But it's way more meaningful than constantly consuming leaks, getting anxious when they say something negative about K. Rool, getting excited when they mention he's in and he's got a cool trailer. The leaks are probably all fake. And it's not worth being so emotionally invested in fanfiction.

Old man is Heihachi from Tekken he did have a Mii costume another fighter represented. Would be cool.

Archer Decidueye I hope so cause I want it in.

Warrior and securtary are Simon Belmont and Isabelle.

Mech is Elma.

It's obvious that most here have nothing else better to do. It'd be a better use of spare time and effort to theorize about who gets buffed/nerfed, guess what stages might debut, wonder about the chances and justifications for our favorites getting in, or even have fun making up movesets for joke reveals in those "Everyone is here!" videos.

But no, might as well solve riddles, word puzzles, sudokus, picross or what have you just to figure out a leak that's obviously made up. There's no point putting any stock in those and giving them the time of day. To paraphrase a Psychonauts character, it's like watching a car wreck in slow motion, only the victims are bad actors and the paramedics forgot their lines.

That being said, I'm positive that K. Rool might show up in a greater capacity this time around. Heck, why not post fan art to celebrate the possibility? It's the thread for it.

With the nature of Mario sports games. We would get a Kritter before King K. Rool himself in the game. Though it would be interesting cross-promotion. Sudden Kremling invasion in videogames? K. Rool in Smash Bros. and Mario Tennis Aces and maybe even Donkey Kong Country Returns 3 with Kremlings return as villains.

Alas, the missing confirmed characters like Blooper and "semi-confirmed" ones like Kamek and Boom Boom makes it very fakey. Not to mention Geno in there is flying too close to the sun. And with the pacing of 1 character per month, you would end up playing with K. Rool in Smash before he was released in Tennis.

Not to go off topic but, I see the argument brought up that Krool is a classic villain and would add to the villain ranks in Smash. Now, lets say he makes it in as he is highly likely. What other villains do you guys believe are worthy of Smash Bros. fame. The list of villains is fairly low due to all the anti-heroes, so what other characters could possibly round out the villains list of Smash.

For my list, I would try to give villains to all the big franchises.

Octolings (Splatoon) - easily an echo for Inkling, and helps in putting in an iconic foe from the new franchise

The Black Knight/ Zelgius (Fire Emblem) - FE, while annoys some players, does deserve a villain rep, and since Black Knight is usually considered the most iconic, he should take the rein. He can be a strong opponent that can take hits. His recovery sucks, but his ground game is amazing, being a tank that can’t easily be thrown off stage.

Black Shadow (F-Zero) - Give him Ganon’s old moveset, plain and simple.

Porky (Mother) - He could use his spider thing from Brawl and have the Statue as his final smash. Plus Mother is a beloved franchise deserving of a new rep.

Hades (Kid Icarus) - Many people want this one. He’s funny, has his own style, and is overall a great villain that should get a shot in Smash

How was Diddy's Mario spinoff attendance before Brawl? If K. Rool gets into Smash, he might get consideration to be in these Mario games. Like how BJ started using his Clown Car more after Sm4sh.

What unique fanfares, if any, would you like for newcomers and even veterans who weren’t playable in the demo?

Wolf - as the leak suggested, even though it’s likely to be false, I’d like an edgier version of Fox and Falco’s victory theme for him, like Bowser, Bowser Jr. and Meta Knight do for their respective series. (Also, is Ridley’s fanfare remixed?)

K. Rool - see above, but with the DK victory theme

Simon Belmont - a snippet of Simon’s theme

Dr. Mario - snippet of the Dr. Mario theme song (it’s only fair)

Corrin - snippet of Lost In Thoughts All Alone (instrumental)

Rex & Pyra (and a potential Addam & Mythra echo) - Hunting Succeeded

Rhythm Heaven character - the jingle that plays at the screen just before you play a Remix in Rhythm Heaven Fever

Elma - snippet of THEMEX from 4:22 to 4:27 (or if they’re feeling generous, up to 4:46 and looping i love that song to bits ok)

Rayman - Stage clear theme from Rayman 1.

Captain Syrup (Wario Land) - Wario's first enemy and most frequent reoccuring archnemesis. Depending on what they'd go for, she could use a Bowser Jr./Koopalings-style gameplay by having her machine from Wario Land 2, with the SML3:WL genie for her Final Smash.

Sylux (Metroid) - Fan favorite bounty hunter from Echoes, known for his mysterious grudge with Samus and the Federation, could easily fill the need to give Samus a human-sized opponent. Plus the added benefit of promoting Prime 4, which he might appear in.

Mother Brain (Metroid) - The classic main villain of the first few Metroids. There has been demand for her to be playable these last few years, which could be theoretically possible by giving her spider legs, with her Super form being reserved for her FS.

Medusa (Kid Icarus) - The more serious (somewhat) evil counterpart to Palutena, known for being the first villain of the franchise. Her dark goddess powers could add a degree of creativity to her moveset (alongside her corrupted cyclopean form as FS). Maybe even summon some of her frustrating minions?

DJ Octavio, Medusa, and Dr. Coyle (ARMS) are the only other villainous characters I want in Smash after K.Rool. DJ Octavio has become my 2nd favorite Nintendo villain behind the Kroc himself. With Ridley and Wolf tied for 3rd. Bowser at 4th, Ganondorf at 5th. But god do I love them all. Basically what I'm saying is I want a Medusa, Octavio, and ARMS set of amiibo.

Just a thought... what if "old man" could also mean a man from an old series? Of course that's a topic for a different thread (would a leak speculation thread even be allowed?) but that's just something to get the noggin' joggin'. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting another Kirby rep... though I dunno if it's gonna be a villain. It could be anyone, really, considering we already have the hero, anti-hero, and villain trio.
As much as I can't wait for the King K. to be confirmed (if he is) though, part of me wishes they'd save it for September 19th. Talk like a pirate day, mateys.

I only mentioned Fredrik and Cactus King because I think Donkey Kong is long overdue for characters. If Fire Emblem can have six characters, why can't Donkey Kong? On that note, I said I was going to add some more to my idea and here you go.

I had a vision of a trailer starting off in the jungle with DK rushing to something, Dixie and Diddy following suit. One section of the jungle was set ablaze, another frozen and a third bombarded with bombs. The first encounter was King K. Rool, showing off his appearance and then some gameplay footage showing his new design and his costumes from King to Krusha along with Dixie fighting and showing her moves. After the Smash Bros. logo flashed, someone in the shadows (Fredrik) froze K. Rool's galleon and another threw pineapple bombs (Cactus) at the mast, destroying it. K. Rool glares at the two before fading out. I'm just a sucker for non-humanoid villains. I think Smash could benefit from showcasing the lesser parts of the IP's currently represented. I never got the whole relevancy/E-lister argument. If you played those games you'd know who they are. I look at Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and while that game was a copypaste compilation, the character representation was fantastic, especially in comparison to the recent game.

Just my two cents on the roster and how I feel it could grow from this point.

I think 4 characters is "right" for the DK series. Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, and K.Rool is the perfect amount of DK representation IMO. I'm saying this as a massive DK fan as the franchise is my favorite Nintendo franchise. Some could make a case for characters like Cranky and Funky but IMO save those characters for like Smash 8 when we're really scraping the bottom of the barrel (no pun intended) for 1st party Nintendo characters to add. Also Fredrik and Cactus Kong I don't think deserve to be in Smash at all BUT like I said I could see them being added in like Smash 15. lol

Smash 15 newcomers: Lord Fredrik, Cactus Kong, Goomba, Disco Kid, Blathers, Jimmy T., Abraham Lincoln (Codename S.T.E.A.M), Judd & lil Judd, Stanley the Bug Man, Anthony Higgs, Panther Caroso, Captain Rainbow, Jody Summer.

I think the Smash community could just use something new from Ultimate on the website. The issue with the huge blowout is that it leaves wild speculation without any sense of forward momentum to new info and hype.

All of the information on the site has basically been information we knew about or highlighting the character trailers we already know about and have seen. It’s just not that interesting and doesn’t lead to any new info to play with in speculation...

That said, I’m still not convinced we’ll see characters revealed through the site. I just think they’ll hold characters for bigger events

Villains from other series? Beyond K. Rool King Boo, Dr. Eggman, and DJ Octavio. Don't know if they'd happen but eh? Just a thought. Well tommorow is almost here many leaks will be deconfirmed, deep down I wish they were real. I only hope if he's in King K. Rool is confirmed eventually. Dixie Kong as well would love to have her added. These two plus DK and Diddy Kong. Would be the only four reps, DKC needs, for now in my book.

For orginal villains, I mentioned before I wouldn't mind seeing Dark Matter from kirby being a character. You could almost make him kind of yoshi like, where his up B doesnt really launch him up, but instead he has a float mechanic that depends on the last time he touched the ground. Launch dark electrical lazers, exploding orange orbs, and just bits an pieces from the darkness in general.

Kirby is kind of tough to do a real villain from, since meta knight and king dedede are rarely true villains, and all other villains often get swapped out every game. Cause unlike most of the protags, Kirby actually tends to kill his foes....

Honestly I wouldn't mind this roster two of my most wanted would get in King K. Rool, and Decidueye, Heihachi, Dixie Kong, Geno, Ninten/Dark Samus I'd welcome with open arms, and Isabelle, Isaac/Amaterasu (Okami, folklore could be her too.) Would all be characters I'd like too see Isaac, I want in too But fake is what I expect. Oh well I look forward to the next bit of news, no use in wasting time on it. So I'm done talking about it looking forward to what's next. Whenever that is.
