Killzone is back, and in 3D!

The sequel to the highly anticipated game, Killzone 2 is back, and this time it's packing the cold. Killzone 3 will still take place on Helghan, but with a twist. No longer the grey and red and brown desolate place it was in KZ2, it is now a grey, red, brown and white desolate place, filled with fur wearing Helghasts and the jet packs from Killzone Liberation.

- Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them.

- Will have the feeling that "of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you."

- Will be like Inglorious Basterds.

- All of the characters in the screenshots are flying in.. jetpacks?!

- Will include arctic levels.

- One mission in the game involves rescuing ISA Captain Narville.

- Game is playable in 3D!

- Have to wear 3D glasses, apparently the 3D effects are "crazy."

- Combat is "unchanged from predecessor."

- Or is it? Hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."

- The scale is supposed to be "bigger this time."

- The Jetpacks are "surprisingly lightweight and agile, Killzone 3's jetpack is easier to maneuver compared to the sluggish incarnations of the gadget found in other games."

- New weapon called the Wasp, basically shoots a "flurry of rockets" at an enemy.

- Will show off the Helghast culture.

- There is actually a Helghast language, which will be explored in the game.

- Will have "diverse locales."

- Have to sit in the center of the 3D tv for the 3D effects to work.

- 3D in this game is called a "Game Changer."

- Going to have "Intense Action"

- Jetpacks double as a weapon, which basically means a machine gun mounted right on top of it.

- If you shoot Helghast with jetpacks, they'll "explode like roman candles"

- To control the jetpack, you "have to activate bursts of speed in midair, propelling yourself across further distances."

- The Jetpack resembles something you'd do in platformers such as Super Mario Bros. Or Uncharted

- In one mission, you have to use the jetpack by "launching yourself from glacier to glacier"

- You'll see "a lot of" snow levels.

- Everything is more spread out in this game.

- The game looks very complete.

- Helghast hold ISA responsible for basically everything.

- The Helghast are P.I.S.S.E.D.

- To clarify; YOU NEED A 3D TV WITH GLASSES TO PLAY KZ3 in 3D. It is optional, not mandatory.

- Guerilla wants a deeper conflict.

- When the Helghast lost the first Extrasolar War, they got banished from Vekta (they used to rule Vekta and Helghan) they were forced to live on the Helghan, which transformed them eventually into the Helghast. Did I mention that the Helghast are stillP.I.S.S.E.D. about this?

It will be nice to see the Helghast culture, and the "humanity" in them.

Killzone 3 has a playable build already, according to Gamepro. It's only the 4th level, but it has 3D effects as well.

3D T.V isn't needed, but according to the Gamepro article, 3D makes the game almost feel like real life.

The first one was hailed as a "Halo Killer." Unfortunately it sucked in a large scope, but was pretty fun. The 2nd one was marketed as a "Killer App" for the PS3, and it was generally received.

It's most likely some random ISA trooper, or a multiplayer model. I doubt it's Sev since screens have him with his mohawk and shadow.

EDIT: looking at it in 720p, I think it is Sev. Though the amount of hair and his beard suggests that he has been on Helghan for a long time.

Included are Call of duty styled EXP system, updates to Helghast designs, new sights for the Sta52 rifle (or a new Sta52 styled rifle), brutal Melee implemented into multiplayer( surprisingly, it looks like a great way to balance out the knife), the Sta14 now has a ACOG like scope, and the best part of all, the Exosuit from the 2nd to last mission from Killzone 2 is now available in Multiplayer.

Has anyone played this? What's the multiplayer like? (I rarely finish fps sp) I'd be most interested in things like lag, op weapons/gadgets/vehicles, prominent gameplay styles (game is highly campy, etc), and anything else you might think would be relevant.

I do actually have a PS3 but I only use it for exclusives. I'm going to pick this up pretty soon unless I decide to get Homefront or Dragon Age II

I have this game....not many people have this on the smashboards.

The MP is fun but can get dull if not playing with a team. Its class based just like KZ2, controls are more responsive compared to 2 but lacks server listings and custom matches.

There is alot of currently problems that need to be addressed and some already in the works. I didn't even know there was a KZ3 thread lol
