t1mmy should be 5th on the top 5 Kirby list IMO. I have no idea what RRR does but since t1mmy 6-1'd t0mmy, that's better than most Kirbys. Glad that Chu's back as first again. :D

After watching MikeKirby on Deven3000's stream, I think he has potential to be second best Kirby, his up close games/strings are really solid, he played Kirby pretty fast, definitely better than Falln in those aspects, but Falln probably has more patience (him vs Havok game 1). I think MikeKirby can become better than Y.b.M. too, but he's not there yet, but he's close to surpassing Falln, he's already better in the aspects I listed above, I think MikeKirby's better at up close/footsies plays but Falln is better at playing safe.

I have no desire to be on any rankings; I just play Smash because I love it (and because Kirby is awesome). Might as well put someone else on the list who would like to have it. But, yeah, I've never seen t0mmy lose to a Kirby in all the years and all the different cities and states we've traveled, Singles or Doubles.

And good news, I had a really, really close win against t0mmy at the big tournament yesterday. It went down to the last game 2-2, down to the last stock, down to the last hit. He tripped right as I was coming down and that gave me the opportunity to hit with a B-air for the win. -^_^-

Mr. Poyo! I've been looking for you! Hi! Anyway, you should have said hi! I would have definitely have given you a shout out! Thanks for the compliment. Although, I feel like my reaction speed and decision making skills are sub-par to what they were about a month an a half ago. All I need is the practice again but it's all uphill from here!

Shoutout for what (haven't looked at this thread in a few days, so maybe I missed something)? XD

It makes sense though, weren't you on vacation or something which is why you haven't been to tourneys in awhile? I myself am rusty due to not practicing much lately cause I can't take the joke season on AiB seriously and organizing times to play with people through Skype is too much work for someone like me. ^^;

But when the real ladder starts next month, I'm gonna be practicing for at least 6 hours every day, I'm gonna get all my rust off and stop losing to people I know I should be beating! :D

As for the top 5 Kirby list... If anyone new makes it on if t1mmy doesn't want to be on it, I think it should be the Kirby (forgot his name ^^; ) in Arizona. I looked at some results and he won an AZ tourney (that KiraFlax was at and Kira's good) and outplaced KiraFlax at another tourney (he didn't get first, but still impressive outplacing KiraFlax, not sure if he beat Kira in the head-to-head though, didn't see the bracket) but it's still impressive.

Maybe Kiwi? People have been talking about her being a top 5 Kirby but I don't know how she places in NE and I've seen people talking about her making top 5 cause she made it to bracket at SKTAR which would be dumb if she got on cause of that cause I tied with her at SKTAR (we both got 49th, so we only won pools sets, no bracket ones). Granted she went all Kirby and I went some MK, I used Kirby to beat M@v which was my hardest pools set (that I won) and just went MK against a Marth (I think it was Chaos, but I'm not sure) just cause it'd be easier. I double 2-stocked him with my MK and my Kirby was playing better than my MK at SKTAR, so I know I would've beat him with Kirby too, I just went MK cause it was easier.

So yeah, I'd say future candidates for top 5 Kirbys are t1mmy (if he ever wants to be on the list), the Arizona Kirby (if someone knows his name, tell me, too lazy to look at results threads right now ^^; ) or Kiwi (if she's placing high in NE tourneys).

Also t1mmy, when you beat t0mmy again, was it his MK or R.O.B.?

Oh yeah, Yummy's his name! Yeah, he's been doing good in AZ, should probably be on the top 5 list soon.

Oh btw MikeKirby, are you going to this tourney?

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=327116

I MIGHT be going if I can make some money in September (since I'm broke right now), I really wanna attend more tourneys since MD/VA is dead a lot and NJ/NY is really active. I already have a Megabus route planned out, just need to figure out how to get to the bus station at DC by 5 AM since my bus leaves DC for NY at 5:15 AM and arrives in New York at 9:45 AM. Also just wondering, is it hard to get rides in NJ/NY (dunno who the drivers are there ^^; ) cause I'll need to be picked up at the bus station to the venue and taken back to the bus station after the tourney (willing to pay gas, not going to the tourney anyway if I don't have a comfortable amount of money). Nothing's guaranteed since I have no money right now, but I'm definitely thinking about it and going to try to make some money in September.

Even though this was a big, weekend tournament with people from all over the state attending (not the local weekday one), t0mmy still went all MK on me. He played ROB against everyone else and ended up taking 1st place. XD

The matches were really close, and someone was recording them as we played, so maybe I'll actually get some new videos up after all this time! -^_^-

Do it T!mmY! I want to see you play! :bee:

Kawaii, I haven't thought that far ahead as far as tournaments go. I'm not sure if I'll attend but if you go it gives me more incentive to want to go! Oh and I meant when you saw me on stream you could have said hi on the stream chat. I'd would've waved hi back.

Oh!

Well for some reason when I watch Twitch and am on IE, when I sign in, then the chat doesn't load and when I tried to load it in Firefox (which I can sign into the chat with), it was lagging so... I just had to watch on IE and couldn't chat. ^^;

Ally beat him in GFs though (but with MK). Although tbh... Zinoto should've won game 5 of GFs set 1, it's on that channel, watch it. Zinoto gets the single naner infinite on Ally's last stock then messes up on the finish and Ally comes back.

Ally almost had it. Looking at this vid makes give me second thoughts on what I should do when playing against a :diddy: and his nanners.
At no point in that first game did Ally ever "almost have it". Zinoto maintained stage control the entire time, and Ally wasn't even trying to maneuver and/or manage the nanerz. Zinoto shouldn't have even gone down to 1 stock, but that ledge grab gimp and and that unfortunate smash trade ended up making it close.

Ask Chu, Ally!

He has a near perfect record vs Lie and has taken ADHD and Gnes to last game last stock, he's the best Kirby vs Diddy (well best Kirby period, but he's really good vs Diddy too).

I would start thinking so as well. But at least :kirby2:'s airgame looks much better than :diddy:'s, despite the aerials.

It's actually more simple if you just don't throw bananas back at him when you take it. Say, throw it off stage or high up in the air.

I still say no to this. 'Till the day I die.
I'm actually curious what side you lean on. There are some people who say it's in Diddy's favor, and then there are others that believe it's in Kirby's favor. So when you say it's not even I don't know what you really mean... :c

I get ***** by Diddy, but then again, that's as Kirby AND Meta Knight and since I'm getting ***** as MK, I'm obviously playing the MU wrong.

Chu says it's even and he's done well against plenty of Diddys, so I believe him.

Vinyl speaks the good words.

Cept throw them naners behind you, on stage. Keeps it away from Diddy and he can't pull another one out so soon. Up would be good too but it gives him chance to catch it.

I guess but if he's close he might jump and Z catch it. I would probobly not even throw it if he was close personally but I dunno.

C'mon bro, when have you seen someone expressing a matchup advantage over Diddy with that tone?

I'm sorry, I thought it was obvious that I meant it to be in Diddy's favor. It's not super duper unbalanced, I would say somewhere between 60-40 or 55-45 for Diddy.
Kirby just has a severely limited way of getting around the nanerz, and using them doesn't help either because Diddy uses nanerz better than Kirby. Kirby has to play virtually flawless in order to merely keep up with Diddy, whereas Diddy has a good amount of room for error.

That's why Ally said he had trouble getting around the bananas, because Kirby doesn't really get around bananas well, nor does he have as good of options with bananas. Ally is a smart player and would be able to capitalize on things he finds out, but if the options aren't there, then they just aren't there.

I z-drop bananas a lot, it helps make approaches from above at Diddy safer. If you hit his shield and he tries to punish, the banana trips him. Otherwise he has to retreat, or shield if it's big enough. There's obviously more to it than that, but it really is all a matter of reacting properly depending on what Diddy's doing. It really is an even MU once you teach yourself how to properly handle items and catch them in midair without failing. All I can say for the people having trouble with Diddy, is to find a good Diddy mainer friend and start learning how to REALLY play with items.

Even then...the chances of you having better item control than a frickn Diddy main, whose entire existence revolves around item control, is very slim.

Wumbo, if a Kirby doesn't have better mastery of items than Diddy, I would say he/she is a bad Kirby - actually, a bad player. Every good player should be better than every Diddy/Zamus/Peach/Snake main with items.

The CA rank is all wacky because all out results are where the dude compiling data won't see them (AIB).

EDIT: I'm pretty sure that the MK banned rank for CA is taken from just Winter Game Fest, lmao.
