Melee had a humongous following as well silly, and people played for years.
Game was fun, actually good, wasn't quite perfect, but still at the end of the day people wanted to come back for more. Only people who got mad at the game were people who mained low tiers, but doesn't that happen in every game? Either you suck it up and get better with your low tiers, or just learn a new character.
When a game is clearly bad, like Brawl, you can't help but NOT want to waste time playing it. Only reason someone would continue playing it is because they're making money off of it (M2K).
Dmbeezy alotta good games don't have big followings...
...and alotta people played Melee, but some shyed away from the competitive scene because they weren't up for learning how to wavedash or shffl.
Regardless, I can't seem to say the years that went by for this game will ever bring back the magical times that were Melee...year by year the game just evolved. Of course alotta gay sh** was invented, but there were clearly ways around it (M2K vs. Mango--even when Mango doesnt' use Puff).
I mean god****.
I mean ***** please.
I mean...
...you know what I mean.
Game sucks.
