If I didn't own four (all by chance no less and all rescued), I would adopt. As much as I just hate people, I cannot be cruel to any animals.

Bleh, I hate cats. After seeing a cat eat the eggs of a bird couple and seeing them getting eaten too after they were trying to hurt the cat just reminded me of how much I hate cats

You know humans do the same with chickens, right?

I do know that, but it bothers me more that the birds actually morned the death of the kid kinda gave me a bit of sympathy. I mean chickens, they lay eggs nearly every day, so they could easily have more chances for baby chicks if they wanted.

I've only seen one maine **** in my whole life, she is beautiful. But she doesn't like me lol.

Ok, if you want another reason that's more logical for me to hate cats, they ate this baby chick I had when I was little...

I used to play with it and everything until some cat from next door came and ate it... is THAT a good enough reason to hate them?

And if I didn't hate them, I'm more of a dog person personally.

Hate to be a jerk, but please stop with all the negativity or leave the thread before I start infracting you for bringing down a good cause like this.

Anyway...

I love cats. I don't have any and I'd like to adopt one, but my mom doesn't really like them. At least I have my dog, but he's getting pretty old now =/

Maybe I'll manage to convince my mom to let me adopt one soon.

I love cats. Used to have 3, they're all gone now.

I literally lost everything when I moved into a foster home. Everything.

I don't hate cats or anything, but I'm much more of a dog person. We have two English Bulldogs now and they are like the best pets ever.

The old neighbors used to have one, though. They didn't treat him very well, always leaving him out in their front yard. We practically took care of him for a few years, there. They moved away around a year ago, and the cat ran away from them after that.

Of course I hope for the well-being of the cat, I just can't believe people are crazy enough to let their pets run around like that. He probably tried to come back to us because we were the only ones who took care of him.

All the pictures of the cats are adorable! I would love to adopt a cat but I have a dog that probably would be too fond of that idea. Anyways, thank you Tom for creating this thread, adopting an animal from the shelter is definitely rewarding.

At what time was I trying to dissuade people from not having cats? I was just simply expressing my dislike towards cats, not matter how misguided it was.

Roacherman, I guess the thing is that it comes down to the fact that this topic is not even asking what your opinion of cats is. I'm somewhat guilty of it in my earlier post as well, I will admit.

I'm not even going to dignify what you said with a response because you didn't even bother to read my post correctly, Roacherman, but Bassoonist is right. Normally I'd be fine with negative opinions and all, but in cases like this where the thread is asking you to do an indisputably good thing, coming into a thread like you were isn't okay.

So yeah, let's just drop this and let the thread go back to normal, okay?
