Well my blog is gone and I want to do as much as I can to get ready for ROM, so I have some vids you guys can tear apart if you'd like. It would help me, at least.

They're from a tourney in the summer, where I actually got knocked into loser's by this player, so I came back and here's the Grand Finals set.

Set 1 vs Sheik and Marth

Set 2 vs Jiggs and Sheik

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiJhdory5zY&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAZPd7pw6Rw&feature=related

Next is vs Darkrain, I was pretttttty nervous so I made tons of tech errors, so I mean like when I uthrew him to Fsmash, you guys don't need to point that out lol, that's obvious. More like, the mindgame side of things.

They're from the summer so they're not really too recent I suppose.

gonna watch this in a sec

what the ****. . . yo mail that **** to me??
too late. I'm gonna pick it up.

edit: too many dash attacks jesse. You're gonna get punished hard for them eventually. Also, needs more u-tilt. You also need to control your movement. You run into a lot of moves.

oh, and DI:
- combo DI combo moves
- survival DI the knee

Wow... potential much? I can actually understand the thought processes you're going through just watching your characters play... you have a really good knowledge of what works, and what doesn't. Man, I can't wait to see where you get to =D

Two quick things:

Against falcon, you can get more mileage off your tech chases by upsmashing, rather than grabbing... generally speaking. FD is sometimes an exception, but upsmash gets you combos just as well, plus the added bonus of the extra damage.

Watch the momentum on your aerials, especially your dairs. You're picking really good time to dairs, but then you're short hopping forward, and you never hold back to stop that momentum. This stops you from getting a lot of combos that you could have, because generally you went past darkrain (though even then, you had some nice follow ups). I generally solve this short hopping in place (and actually running until I get to the point I want to dair), or if you want to dair earlier in your jump, when you get to the point you want hit back to sort of cancel your momentum.

I'll probably watch more later, I'm interested now.

Edit: My first statement applies to your marth as well, but there's no point in giving advice when someone wasn't playing particularly well (or at least, that's my assumption).

Idk if I'm good enough to comment on your video cause you're definitely better than me. So throw away this advice if you don't like it!
Lol I actually liked all the dash attacks on FD. You can say that you'll eventually get punished for them, but when they're getting you tech chases, grabs and combos, keep at it. There were two instances that I noticed though when you dash attacked and he was at low enough percent that you couldn't combo off of the dash attack and you guys were basically reset.

Watching you play I can see that you're a really smart player. That match on FD was great because you had an answer for almost everything he did. I really enjoy watching you play I guess cause you aren't falling for his baits and are waiting for him to approach without camping him to death. You didn't really give anything up in the match (except for the SD): he got kills cause he played smart and outspaced you (I still don't know why his raptor boost beat your nair on FD, I guess the hitbox wasn't out?).

I would say watch where you laser. You lasered really close to him on several occasions when you got maybe 2% damage on him and put yourself at risk (above him).

3rd match though he changed up his game a little. He started the first match by jabbing after aerials (which you countered with cc jab), but then he started dashing back after an aerial and coming in with a grab. Once again in. Once again I don't know why you're lasering with him that close to you. If you have a reason I'd love to here it, but it's very high risk and low reward.
You were playing pretty smart, but you did mess up your tech skill, DIed some knees pretty badly, and lost the match. I think you're on his skill level honestly, things just didn't go well for you in that last match. He made some good reads and you lost, but at the end of the day you just gained some experience vs (arguably) the world's best falcon. Next time you'll remember that 2nd match, go in confident, and beat him.

This was more about move choice than mindgames. I can understand the style of darkrain and I see how he'll react to situations and understand, but how can you describe it? To me it feels like he's hunting you. Idk how else to describe it. When I watch him vs some foxes they just totally wreck his energy, but then he gets it back up in almost no time.

Also: uthrow fsmash sucks.

EDIT. Wow I just gained a whole new respect for darkrain. I just watched the matches again and now I understand his pressure game even more. Jesiah I'm sure you get it to but: wow Darkrain's good... :) God I love smash.

Drugged Fox- haha, we've been talking more on Smashboards, haven't we? You seem to be super knowledgeable, but I Haven't been able to find any vids of you though. Thanks for all the advice.

Vids of me... they exist, I'm just always nervous during them, unless they're friendlies. One month of tournament experience tends to do that though, I guess =/

You're going to RoM3, right?
