Even outside of Wi-Fi, our names can be up to five letters.
Until now, it was unclear whether or not our names could be four letters or five letters outside of Wi-Fi, since in the Tourny Mode update, all the names were a maximum of four letters.
But now it's become clear.

Or he just likes the Japanese more and let's them have five letters and not us.

You have to put everything into consideration you know :)

Well, it's not as obvious on the english site, since only three spaces are used, but you can see in the english screenshot that there is enough room for a fifth letter.

@Motherfan: If you're referring to me when you say "He is Japanese", then no I'm not. I live in New Jersey.

Thats actually great news, I was wondering about how that was going to work. 4 letters is really not alot, especially considering theres going to be an entire wifi community..imagine how many times your going to find someone with the same name, well I guess that applies to the 5 letter limit as well but to a lesser degree.

I'll probably be going with "Beast" in the case of five letters *wide grin*
Or "MadNX" based on my gamertag (Madnexx)

Minor detail really, but I like the extra letter/character/symbol/alphanumerical sign nontheless.

I'm pretty sure your name won't be "taken"...unless I'm mistaken, it didn't work like that in MKDS.

We get 5 letters too.

I call RuinR

And it's weird that they only put it on the japenese site...though there have been differences in site updates before.
Eww Stephen go away.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw this. There is clearly 2 more spaces.

My primary handle is 8bit, so this dosent effect me much, but still cool.
Wtfz I use 8bit too.

Flashes the Panda signal... I think that it is five letters but we can't be certain until brawl is out, or we can call Panda man to translate
