Guess when they said "Summer Release", they meant japan. I hope they don't do this for the Wii U version too.
If anything it won't be after November. I remember Brawl's delay, but they can't possibly afford to miss the launch of the game this Christmas. They HAVE to have this game for their Holiday season to sell systems or they're ****ED.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeitttt. I was so hyped to see it comes out on my birthday on the japanese site, but then I look at the US site and its a whole 3 weeks later. Whatever happened to Summer!?! Oh well the robot chicken and smash bros footage was incredible. But damn what happened to all these games weve been waiting for since 2012? They said Zelda was almost complete last year,

I have an import 3DS and I plan on picking it up digitally, so I'll be updating with finds as well.

I'm going to try my best to resist going on the internet for about 3 weeks when Smash 3DS comes out in Japan.
I want to experience the secrets myself.

I'm going to ask my parents to take away my phone and iPad for 3 weeks when it comes out in Japan, that way, I CAN'T see the spoils!

I'm awful when it comes to resisting spoilers for anything more than a few days, so not having a worldwide release means I'll definitely know the whole roster before I buy the game. The problem is only compounded because I wouldn't mind learning more about Smash Run and other new modes, but watching that footage will doubtlessly show some of the unlockable characters.

I keep telling myself I'll go dark after the Japanese launch, but honestly I follow soooo damn much Smash related things on the internet... I'd pretty much have to shut my computer and phone off for that month.

Japan gets Smash exactly a week after my birthday...
I'm not too desperate yet, but if I keep thinking about it, I could import a Japanese 3DS now, then use birthday money to order Smash...

But then I can't buy Kirby and Hyrule Warriors :urg:
Be patient, mate. You won't be the only one sitting around waiting for the localization. Smash or no, will you really use your Japanese 3DS for anything else AFTER the English version of the game is released? Don't be too hasty.
...I mostly say this so you don't lose out on Hyrule Warriors, that game looks boss.

At least the wait isn't as long as Brawl, especially for Europeans like me.

What's 20 days of waiting compared to months of waiting?

It's Brawl all over again.

"We're not going to have Smash Run in the next Smash Bros. because Japan was uploading videos of it before the rest were released."
Wait, that happened? With what? 0_0 (Aside from Pit, of course.)

Well since Japan gets 3 weeks ahead of time, for those of you who still enjoy a surprise, might as well go "Game of Thrones no spoilers mode" on this game and refrain from all Internet and possibly friends for fear of spoilers. Although if one were to find the secrets themselves, you might as well tack on an extra week or two after NA release date so you can get at least many more of the secrets yourself. That's like 1 month and a quarter worth of blackout.

Anyone who has checked up on Gematsu might as well spoil themselves, the surprises have already been spilled I'm sure. I was going to spoil myself regardless, I just want to know the roster asap, don't really care much about secrets in fighting games, I want to know what I can expect going into it.

This, seriously. Having only 3 weeks difference is still better than a 6 or even 10 month's difference that was between Japan and Europe in the past Smash games. As much as I would have liked a world wide release too. At least the gap isn't as huge this time around, this is a big improvement compared to past Smash titles imo.

My youtube homepage, the smash boards, and pretty much anywhere I get gaming information from will be full of Smash things I have yet to discover. And I recall Sakurai said in a interview about Subspace. "You can only truly wow a player the first time"

What I'm trying to say is that Sakurai might refer back to this and rethink about things being uploaded to the internet that may spoil content.

Or you can just not go on the internet.

They get it on...a meaningless date for me, but still, nice to see some kinda lucky people.

20 Days really is nothing though. I mean, provided that Sakurai still updates the site and obviously given that people will be able to upload their own info and footage, I'll have plenty to distract me for those 20 days.

honestly there isn't any large plot to SSB so there isn't much to "spoil". Roster and character unlock methods are vital information that you'll curse yourself for not watching when you spend 30 hours doing mundane tasks that could have been done in 4 had you chosen to not shut out helpful things.

I've been wanting to import a Japanese 3DS for awhile, so the news is pretty much the final push for me to buy one. eShop midnight sale for sure =3 (If they do that over there...)

True, but for me the unlocking process is part of what makes a new Smash game so damn enjoyable. Unlock method is probably the one thing I won't bother to find out until when/if I get frustrated trying to unlock someone I really want.

Well, we're being fed information all the time anyway. I won't mind the spoils. But I won't read how to unlock stuff, I'll want to discover that for myself.

I don't know about you, but I'm actually kind of excited about the spoilers. They got me excited before Brawl (although I was a bit bummed that Mewtwo most definitely wasn't coming back), and they'll get me fantasizing here. Get hype!

Yeah, I can't keep off the net until it comes out in Europe. I'm fine with it, but I'd rather not have it like that. Maybe a demo to hold us over?

The thing that's really pissing me off is that the new Pokemon games are coming out in the EU 1 week after the US and Japan. It's for a stupid reason too.

I can live with that, I'm used to only getting my games half a year or more after the initial release, Kirby Super Star Ultra was a whole damn year of waiting, a week later than US and Japan is godsend.

But the thing is, that ORAS is getting delayed due to the fact parts of Europe leaked the game early. So did Canada, but theyy get no punishment? And plus, it was around 10 stores, and the whole of Europe has to suffer? I call bull****.

Well since it's coming out early. I don't know if I should avoid spoilers or stay off the internet.....Hard decision.

EDIT: I meant idk if I should spoil myself....
