I've got nothing against rap as a type of music, or even as the catalyst for a fashion. I've just got issues with a culture that promotes a violent, male chauvinistic, money-centric lifestyle as some sort of ideal.

For what it's worth, I've also got issues with the better-than-thou /b/-tard culture that is prevalent among nerds. I just think some people take themselves WAY too seriously.

Are you kidding? Heaps of nerds love rap. There's an entire segment of rap written for, by and about nerds, nerdcore. Rap is about rhythm and being awesome through clever word play, nerds dig that. Nerds like ironically making fun of things too, which is why people who aren't morons listen to gangsta rap; it's hilarious.

It changes on a person to person basis, obviously, but without nerds you wouldn't have the Beasty Boys.

I listen to quite a bit of rap, actually. Very little of it is gansta rap, but there's rap there nonetheless. Mostly the rap groups and artists that make their way into the alternative rock scene (Atmosphere, Gym Class Heroes, The Flobots, Hollywood Undead, Matisyahu). Generally good stuff.

Comparing the United States Internet to Japan is like comparing a turtle to a Cheetah. Japan is way more advanced and tech savvy then the U.S. Just look at this graph the U.S is pwned when it comes to Internet speeds not just by Japan but by other countries to. I mean come on guys "Canada" we could at least beat them.

what I love is the whole "japan is superior in every way" attitude that people get even though the closest they've gotten to the country is playing a video game that came from there, and assuming problems the US has don't come up there such as crime or racism that are actually relevant in more places than alot of people think.
