Japanese 3DS Users? The Unofficial JPN Friend-Code Thread

I'm sure this has been asked time and time again, but since I can't quite find a dedicated thread for it, anyone out there with a Japanese 3DS looking to play Smash in September?

I actually literally got mine only 3 days ago, for Smash among other things. It'd be nice to find some people to play some friendlies with while we wait for the American Release.

And on that note, have a list of Japanese 3DS Friend Codes!

Cool. When adding money to the Japanese Eshop is it in Dollars or Yen?

And if it's Yen, what's the smallest amount they let you add that would equate with at least 40$?

Um, well the prices are in yen... As far as the minimum amount, I'm not sure. I always just use the "add required funds" option.

Oh, can you add specific amounts? I haven't actually used the American Eshop in a while either, haha.

Yeah. You add an item to your cart, and when you go to check out, it'll give you the usual options to add funds, but it'll also have an option to add the exact amount needed to pay for whatever is in your cart.

Yeah, the fact that the japanese Eshop takes US cards makes things infinitely less complicated. If you're ever confused on something navigation wise, you can always just mimick what you do on an american 3DS on the japanese one.

I'm probably going to go dark when the game comes out (assuming the roster stays unleaked) so that I can unlock all the hidden characters myself, but once I have all the characters I'll definitely be looking for people to smash with. I'll trade friend codes with you guys once I actually get my 3ds xD

I imagine playing might be a bit choppy since we'd likely be going off Japan servers but the option is there.
Closer to launch let's post our FCs and see if we can get a list going? If Miiverse allows screenshots for the game (please) I'll be posting things and taking questions here as well as on Miiverse.
I also believe some of the other mods here are going to set some things up for us so we can easily dump info and answer questions when the time comes.

keep in mind that it charges as yen and some banks take a small foreign transaction fee. but yes the best way is "needed funds" (smallest option when it asks how much you want to draw but you need to have pressed "purchase game" and gone through that way instead of just adding funds).

How did you go about setting up a Japanese NNID? Did you make up an address or something? I was thinking of asking my homestay family if they'd be alright with me using theirs...

I think it's only if you want the Club Nintendo equivalent, I got through everything by saying OK to defaults. If you can't read/guess the miiverse section where you make a NNID it can be confusing but all you really need to enter is email, the username you want and a password twice.

Pretty much this. You can do everything just fine without connecting a Japanese Club Nintendo account.

I live in Taiwan, an island on the southwest side of Japan, so we have more Japanese games, my two brothers owns 3ds so I will steal theirs to play it before the worldwide release!LOL!

I just got my JP 3DS and I was trying to add funds with my credit card on the eShop, just to see how it would work when I get Smash bros. And when I click the credit card option, I get a message (and I don't really know a lot of kanji, so it's hard to understand) and all I get is an option to go back to the main eShop menu. I created a Japanese NNID and confirmed it on my email.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? D: I wanted to get quite a few games from the eShop. Thanks! c:
