by the way can we pay in person on arrival or is paypal mandatory, and also i thought players remained pending until they'd paid (if the paypal thing is mandatory)? If not, what exactly is the difference between pending and registered?

You do not need to pay via pay pal, just bring $10 with you. The pending is considered pending because the host of the event accepts players into the tournament. Being registered actually has nothing to do with either paying or not, just is a way to let the host of the event know that people are coming and to then let players know that they are ready to pay and have a spot reserved for them.

Other than before the spots run out, is there a deadline for signing up? I wanna go with a few friends, but I'm not 100% sure if I can make it yet...

I was just wondering, you know... in case...

The only deadline is the day of the event. If there are open positions, then I would assume you could walk in and join (if there aren't others doing the same). The best bet is still signing up and getting your spot reserved for you if you plan on coming. I know it sucks, but this is the best way that we could come up with in order to get things ready for the tourny.

Update: There are now 25/32 people registered for the event. If anyone is interested in joining us, please register to save your spot. I hope to see everyone come out for a great tournament in less than a week!!

MEH. I had already decided that I wasn't going about an hour after that post, but I suppose it being filled up makes me feel better about not going. Vidjo is going to win anyways.

The Tourny is tomorrow, please remember to be on time. If you are late, then your spot is open to go to the first available person. Also, feel free to come and try to nab a spot, b/c I know about 2 pople who registered who will not be showing up. This should be a great time everyone, see you tomorrow.

We were really thinking about coming, but its like a two hour drive which we cannot make especially since a couple people might not show and we might get a spot?!?..idk dude, not saying its your fault, we should of registered but ya, Gl to everyone i guess.

that's understandable, but you are also correct, I have had registration up for some time now, well over a month. Since 32 people did sign up, this tourny will almost definately become bi-weekly, especially with brawl coming out this year. Keep you eyes peeled for another tourny after this one!!

Tourny was fun. Droly got first, SFG got second, and 3rd place was an asian guy i didnt know.
I went 2-0 with MM against droly and some other guy who was prety good.

well i had an awesome time and i think it went really well, major props to both finalists and everyone who came

big papa smoko is definitely a cool name, im still saying it to myself

im the peach that got my *** kicked 3 times by droly btw

I too had a great time for this being my first Melee Tournament. I'm the guy who played as Fox and had the WWE belt around my waist the whole night. And that's because I am the WWE Champion, in case you were wondering.
