jab to downsmash ??

Works at mid percents, you might opt for a second jab sometimes to mix it up.

Just don't do it on Samus or Peach or someone with a broken D-smash like you or you'll get CC *****.

If you're looking for like, a % where it's guaranteed, it never is. Your opponent ALWAYS has an option, the question is usually will they take it.

But, as for closing the gap and leaving them last time to react, it's just about timing. Getting the d.smash to come out A.S.A.P.

Some things to help.

1) Make sure you're using the c stick and not control stick + a.
2) Jab canceling helps (although it's not required)
-Jab canceling = holding down during/after a jab to cancel some recover
3) PRACTICE TIMING.

i would say that if u do the jab while the other is in air u'll hit w/ dsmash 95%.

try mixing it up with jab grab and jab dsmash too, if they CC your jab the dssmash oughta do the trick

If they CC your jab, they're going to punish you before the dsmash hits. Namely, grab.

So... if they start CCing, just don't jab at all? Doesn't seem like Doc can throw out anything in time.

No character can. Jabs have a fair bit of cooldown lag.

If they're CCing, just go straight to the grab.
