I posted an inescapable jab reset against fox/falco in cactuar's thread, but I think they deserve their own thread because if done right/spaced properly they will lead to a chain grab/tipper guaranteed.

This is my post from cactuar's thread.

At 18-like 25% against spacies, do an u throw. listen to their controller, if they try and tech the throw, do a quick u tilt. because of the 40 frames between techs rule, they WON'T be able to tech!! it's unavoidable as long as you pay attention to the sound of their controller. if they don't tech the uthrow, you can just jab reset them anyway. lol even if they DI the uthrow so that the utilt tips, you can just regrab.

I LOVE this technique. I started using it a little at alukard's no johns last sunday against awsum sean. he beat me anyway though cause I'm a noob.
If you want to know the 40 frame rule (as it's what makes certain jab resets inescapable, go here.

INESCAPABLE RESETS

In addition to the one posted above, there are several inescpable jab resets Marth can do out of u throw.

you can short wd backwards and jab tip them, and then wd forwards and jab to reset. this is a lot less practical then the u tilt one, but it works 100% of the time if your opponent is trying to tech the u throw and you realize that.

basically any move that will force them to hit the ground 20-40 frames after they've pressed L/R/Z works. If they fall within 20 frames, they'll tech, and if they fall after 40 frames, they can attempt to tech again. but within that window it's inescapable.

ESCAPABLE/JUST FOR FUN

you can hit them with the tip of your jab around 20% and above and if they don't cc it they'll fall, they can tech it but if they don't you can punish.

U throw to dair can work the same way as uthrow u tilt or uthrow jab, but they can roll/get up attack or whatever before you can jab them. If they delay getting up or rolling or whatever, you can do a jab reset. it's not very reliable though because they could just buffer a roll and get up before you can do anything.

I dunno I'll post more later, if anyone else knows any though, especially inescapable ones, post them and I'll edit them into this post.

Doing anything based on the sounds someone's controller makes is pretty poor sportsmanship. Not passing judgement or anything, but you really shouldn't rely on that kind of strategy.

CJ sits behind people in tourny's so he can look at people's controllers so he can see how they DI
Armada told me
lol

anyway on topic, you can escape that a few percents earlier then 25% through ASDI'ing up, and escape it at any percent through SDI'ing up
most people dont so it's not like this technique is useless, but i just wanted to add that it isnt inescapable

EDIT: ihavespaceballs, how the **** do you do that?

Press them slower I guess. I was kidding.

But you probably could find some way to mimic the shoulder button sound (flicking the controller with your fingernail, maybe) without pressing them, so relying on the sound would become useless.

It's pretty common for players to react to obvious sounds, but to base a strategy on it is pretty cheesy.

As for the CJ watching people's controllers as he plays them, you should really do something about it... like move away...

Thanks to the ultra bright blue LED in my controller, I have the ultimate controller mindgame.
Every time I get hit, land, dash, jump, attack, anything, I can just aim the back of the controller at my opponent for an IRL FINAL FLASH!

You can waveshield with just one shoulder button. My L button is so neglected =3

Also, don't a lot of people base how many times they grab attack by controller sounds?

Scream before you tech so your opponent can't hear anything. Just tell everyone you have Tourrette's Syndrome if they start complaining. Problem solved!
