It's Iwata asking the people who worked on the game questions. This was previously done for Super Mario Galaxy and the development of the Wii.

I'll update this thread with each new volume released. This is the newest one and it revealed the developer that has worked on Brawl. It is Game Arts - the developers of Lunar and Grandia! Pretty crazy, didn't expect that at all.

I think they came out every weekday until release for Galaxy? Not completely sure as for Galaxy I went on a media blackout and read nothing >_> Brawl I'm taking the opposite approach and reading everything.

Holy crap, 700 names in the credits? They better make credit shooting into a full fledged game with power ups and bosses.

He doesn't talk like on the dojo because someone else probably does it for him, and whatnot. 700 people contributing to the game, and 100 peole focusing soley on the game...can't help but say I TOLD YOU SO! Although I was expecting Sqaure Enix or Capcom to be "the Studio!"

(assuming he does write the dojo)
This is him just talking, on the Dojo he has the time to word things the way he wants. Also a different translator may translate things differently.

Quite the opposite actually. He writes the English entries on the Dojo, whereas obviously the interview was conducted in Japanese and then translated to English by someone else.

Yes agreed credit shooting! FTW! Loved that stuff. It was a great read can't wait for the next volume -I love diving further into the minds behind the games. How they come up with some of the idea is just amazing. There are a lot of funny moments in that interview as well. You can tell Sakurai was honored to do another smash bros even though he knew it would require every last bit of concentration and time that he had. He felt a bit overwhelmed and tried as hard as he could to get the game finished on time. I would just like to thank him for agreeing to work on this one. Can you guys imagine if he had decided not to work on it. We would have a much different game for sure. That's why I truly appreciate him giving it another go. Sakurai strikes back fo da win!

Ah, Game Arts, how I love them well. It's nice to see them getting involved in such a large and epic project. Sadly, the Grandia series just doesn't have the weight behind it that it so rightly deserves, so at least GA gets to be involved in Brawl. Also I believe that the chief composer for all of Grandia's music is also involved in the game, love his stuff I do.

Oh and Newcomer: Ryudo. :-) Dangit, why'd they never bring Grandia 2 over to the Gamecube?

How do you know he writes for the English updates? I heard he has trouble with English and that he had to use a translator at E3. Present your proof.

Also, a discrepency I noticed on the UK page compared to the Japanese and American pages is that Iwata Asks was above Manaphy. The order was inversed on the other two. It may not be anything significant but I still want people to know.

Wow. Great stuff.

First revelation: Iwata straight up declares that if Sakurai hadn't agreed to be involved, they would have just made a Wifi Melee 2.0. And it sounds like there was a reasonable chance of that happening.

We actually knew that from the Famitsu article Sakurai wrote. It was in English on the old Dojo site.

No, Sakurai is not fluent in English. Nate Bhildorff (sp? nate change your name x.x) translates Sakurai's words. Although I believe that Sakurai does write in that crazy format for the Dojo in Japanese as well!

Did Sakurai totally slam Iwata at the beginning of the interview? Iwata started to go off and tell a story, and Sakurai is like "...this is a 'Former Nintendo Employee' interview", and Iwata is like "Right. Let's begin."

Maybe I read it wrong, but it seemed like Sakurai was like, "Fvck it, lets get this over with!"

If Sakurai was to talk like the dojo it would've gone more like:

Iwata:
Now that I think of it, that’s something you started saying when you designed Kirby. You were able to make a game like Kirby in order to get people interested in gaming and that it would be a type of game you could recommend to first-time gamers.

Sakurai:
Bam! Bam! BambambambamBAM! y-yeah!

Iwata:

So I assume these are coming out daily?

These articles are great. If I can't be playing Brawl I might as well be hearing the history behind it.
