My Sparky is pretty decent; use him competitively all the time. However, I couldn't quite do the QAC. So I gave up.

Last night, I figured out the problem. I could do the QAC, but not well because I was using the Y button for jumping. I decided to experiment and found it's much easier to use the Tap jump. This way, you don't have to make constant (quick) journeys between the Y/X buttons and the B button nor do you have to time it as well.

ITT: The difference between using buttons vs. the analog stick to jump.

Discuss.

Discuss? Do we seriously need to discuss this? Jumping out of QAC isn't even recommended sometimes (Anther said that). I use "L" for jump. Button configs used for jumping out of QAC is a personal preference...it's whatever works for you.

We seriously don't need to discuss this...

this has been known for a while. it is really personal preference whether or not you use it. i have tap jump of, and anther has it on. whatever works for you.

Really, as stated before, this is not really groundbreaking, as jumping isn't the best thing to do out of qac normally, and even then, how one jumps is up to them. People like anther are used to melee and have tap jump on, others changed in brawl. Controller configurations are personalised for your own ease of use.

Ummm. You guys are acting as if I was suppose to be posting some new tech. -_-

I was simply sharing how I felt QAC was easiest to use and that all the guides I've seen have never talked about which ways would be easier to do QAC. Going through something would be really helpful since guides are mostly made for people wanting to learn how to use Sparky, not pros who know everything about him. -_-

Well you said "something you've never seen in a guide before". It sounded like something new that it even caught my, a marth main's, attention.

Not flaming you. Just trying to get you to understand how it could be misunderstood.

Yea. Looking over my title again, I see where you guys are coming from. Just don't see why you guys are so quick to eat out people who mention "new tech" anyway (outside of this thread). Just say it's already been discovered and move on. >.>

The QAC guides only tell you about how do to a QAC. It isn't anyones responsibility to tell you how do jump. Since in this smash game there are customizable controls, it should already be obvious that there are other ways to execute a jump. If you wanted to discuss which jumping method was the easiest, then there is a problem becuase there will amost never be the universal easiest method because people use different methods. We could do a poll of who uses what, but I think that was already done in one of the QAC forums.

Now everyone stop this. It's getting quite silly.

Just answer the OP's question.
I personally use a Classic Controller. Tap Jump is OFF, L is attack, Zr is Special. I can easily jump between QACs because the Y button and B button are THAT close together.

Most of those people, I would never eat out.

That would be gross.

another actual answer, I use a nunchuck setup, so QAC jumps with the down button on the dpad set to jump are rly easy (uses a different finger than the one that's on the special button). The c button also works. I usually use tap jump to jump anyways, because I'm used to it and it works just fine for me.

HUH! There's another new pika user!!!!

5ive because of your sig, whenever I read your posts, it's like Ken's smiling and saying those things. It's pretty funny sometimes.

Anyways, why would we put any possible way to jump in the QAC forums. Just look at the different ways that it has been done already.
