I've been looking closely, and...the fire looks a little off.

When the Superspicy Curry was revealed, I noticed something about the flames in the screenshots. I looked back at previous shots with the same results. I noticed that fire, flame, and other such things were mostly red and red only.

Now, this isn't like having blue or green fire, as red is fire's elemental colour. But doesn't fire normally have more yellow and orange to it?

I've tried and can't really think of why such a strange decision was made. Sure, red is fire, but unless SSBB has other elemental connections, it makes little sense. And it's extremely unlikely that every single screenshot was taken at a time when all fire objects were red (if they flicker between colours). Plus, both previous games had orange in their flames.

Does anyone have any ideas? Style? Simplicity? Laziness?

Yeah,you're right,now I don't think this game is worth my time because an item doesn't have yellow and orange flames.This is a huge shock to me.

I noticed this too, I wanted Fox's fire to look WAY cooler, not just a little.
Mario Finale is cool though. I guess they just ran with that effect.

J/k, just look closely at the center of the flames and you'll see grades of orange and white.

Well, I've checked some of the other screenshots, and I can only see distincetively orange flames for the Firefox and Eruption (and the non-gameplay image of the Superspicy Curry). All other fire is mostly red and white. And the Mario Finale image actually looks slightly pink, which is not a Mario colour nor a fire colour (may be the stage, though).

It doessn't really matter. It's like expecting the food in Melee to be 3-D or that Andross can only shoot panels and not use his arms. Not that much of a deal.

One person out of 5 gave a light flame in this thread. I'm certain that if you went to many other forums the situation would have been the same. The only reason this was brought up is because people have made such a huge fuss of it. Seriously, if someone made a thread that was about something wrong anywhere else you would be hard pressed to find people not calling the person names or posting sarcastically. He's right, there's definitely a pinkish hue in Mario's final smash, at least in this picture (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/images/mario/mario_070529c.jpg). Makes it look more like something out of DBZ in my opinion. It's fine if you're too lazy to see for yourself, just don't flame him because of it.

It is a bit wierd to see the fire like that now, but you know that's a lie. Fire color isn't going to stop you from buying SSBB.

Red flames.. Well, they look cool. But since most of it is red it looks more like.. a plasma effect than flames.

I still see yellow and orange.. and white. But there could be more of it.
