Where do you live (Sorry if you've mentioned it, I'm new to this thread)? I'll be coming from Napa and going East on 80 to the Sac Tournament. I'll probably be leaving around 12:30 though, so I won't get there in time for Doubles.

What you give is the Anglicanized term 'philosopher.' In the American/English sense, yes, you're right.
However the more correct meaning of philosopher is over two millennia old. It comes from Hellenic (Greek) 'filosofos', which means 'lover of wisdom.' Even this though, is not what I take as a title in my AIM SN. The nature and lifestyle of the true philosopher is described in the Socratic dialogues Apology, Crito, and finally Phaedo. These tell exactly what Socrates believed is the idealization of the nature of he who desires immaterial pursuits of knowledge above all other virtue.
Plato's The Republic describes what is the philosopher king, or philosofos rigas, and with that book you'll see why I take that as title, though I don't deserve it.
Just so you know, when I say 'Socratic dialogue' I mean the three dialogues I mentioned up there. They're written by Plato, but they're generally believed to be mostly the beliefs of Socrates (Plato was the student of Socrates). Oh and all of Plato's writings are written in dialogues, i.e., they take the form of a conversation. They're led by the character of Socrates, but the character voices the beliefs of Plato (and Socrates' ideas in the Socratic dialogues). The traditional form of philosophical writing is called Sophistry, and is the kind you see in texts like Aristotle's Nichomachean Ethics, John Locke's Essay Concerning Human Understanding, and all of my own writings.

Socrates is the man. Although in some of the dialogues with the Sophists, I prefer his opponents, such as Gorgias.
But you know, there's not really that much evidence that Socrates was an actual person, as opposed to a creation of Plato. Hah! Yeah right. Just because Descartes throws out a nice soundbyte everyone thinks he's the ****. By the way, I completely tear "I think therefore I am" into pieces in my blog. Actually I haven't read any Descartes but I hate that quote.
And Sheridan.... HE'S REAL!!! *RUNS OFF CRYING* But seriously, I don't see how or why the story of his existence would be made up if he in fact didn't exist. There are several poets and playwrights which use his name, either in parody or character. I fail to see how they would refer to one fake person. But if he was false, he's probably the world's first pop culture reference, lol ^_^.
By the way I actually haven't finished the Ethics yet...... I started it a long time ago but I didn't finish it. So I need to go start from the beginning. If any of you want a ton of material, I have it on my hard drive. I'll be bringing it to the biweekly. I have TONS of ****. 483 MB of Philosophy, 54 MB of Psych, 89 MB of documents on different languages, 2 and a half Gigs altogether. Just be sure to have some sort of digi storage so I can give you what you want.

Meep: Good to finally play you, our marth vs sheik matches were pretty close. Your doctor mario is absolutely nuts. I have never seen such a good doctor mario, I think it could possibly be better than your luigi.

AND OMG GUYS I DID IT: I CONQUERED PEACH W/ ICE CLIMBERS! brandon and mick trained me hella hard and i finally know how to play her... it's an uphill battle, but i think i've learned how to beat every counter pick.
