At the part where you are now, enemies will keep the level of power they are now untill you progress into the game. Remember the first time you fought on the Lemurian ship? Was a lot harder than it is now right? Same will apply to the enemies you are fighting now. Also don't forget that there's a wild Jupiter Djinni somewhere near Tundarian Tower!
Already got the Djinni, got about 12/13, I just woke up so forgot. Thing is, I never felt underleveled on the ship, these guys outright outsped everyone at first.
Also, the ship battle theme is the best GS2 battle theme so far imo

Yeah was trying not to give too much away . On a side note, I think that Mr. Sakuraba knows that the Saturos battle theme is the best in the series, as it's one of the only songs in all 3 games. Mountain Roc battle comes pretty close, tho imo

Imagine the mayor of Alhafra being in GS4, and you can use Slap on him.

Of course there's GS4. The more games on your Top 10, the more points for Golden Sun if it's in a higher position!
Right now we're close to the global top 100 and I'm sure we can do way better!
Edit: If you have a place for Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, it could be nice to include it, since it's also Camelot's work... After all if we want them to keep making games, this one has to be sucessful enough.
JESUS K. RIST.
I JUST LOST INTERNET FOR THE PAST 2 DAYS.
SO, I'M BACK.
I BEAT DARK DAWN
IN ULTIMATE FINAL SUPER SPECIAL BONUS DUNGEON.
AND I AM GOING TO GIVE MY UNOFFICIAL REVIEW OF THIS GAME LATER ONCE I CALM DOWN A BIT.

1st phase is a joke, like pretty much all Golden Sun bosses that aren't a super or final boss.
2nd phase, like the previous 2 games, is one of very few TRULY challenging fights. Took me 5-6 tries.
Thankfully you can wipe out on the 2nd phase, lost half of your money, and be able to return to it while skipping phase 1.
Don't forget to load your clear game. Now that you have beat the game, you can finally take a crack at the TRUE boss of the game, Dullahan on Crossbone Isle!
No Djinn requirement this time but you get to beat him to unlock Iris in her full (and now unmasked) glory.

Damn how bout that "Fulminous Edge," eh? Formina my Sage IYKWIM. Damn those secret bosses in DD were much harder than in GS2. That Ancient Demon guy is a *******.
EDIT: wow censor on Bass Tahrd? Smash is rated "T" I think we're okay.

It's always useful to know about considered characters during the development.
Now, I can say once again that I really don't like the view of Sakurai on who should be in Smash.
It seriously begins to look like a circus, imo.
Edit: Now somehow I hold Kojima responsible of this. He was not able to keep his Snake in his pants... I mean, in his games! It all began by him asking Sakurai for Snake in Smash, and now everyone is only about 3rd party characters, and Nintendo ones can go starve.

Imagine something insane like Morrigan from Darkstalkers (I really hope thats the right franchise) getting a spot in smash, or other fringe fighting games like guilty gear or that other, similar game that is escaping me currently xD

I don't want to Slap him. I want to cast Judgment
Also, **** the Serpent, how was I supposed to know he healed himself? I got ballsy by using all level 4 summons. Then he healed 2500 or so health. Got Sand now though
Just watched some Nintendaan amiibo unboxing videos (**** YOU EUROPE, stupid shipping strike) and now I really want a Isaac amiibo, of course I won't be able to get it but just to know its out there...

Don't forget the weapon by the Serpent's tail. Easily one of the strongest weapons you can have for Felix or Piers at this point. Cloud Brand it's called, it deals Jupiter based damage with it's unleash.
I also feel like playing Golden Sun all of a sudden!

Dude, you were supposed to weaken it with light beams, so that it would only heal 30 by turn xD. Also, behind his corpse there is a 130+ attack weapon, so go get it.
As for optional bosses, I remember when Ancient Demon stole my Master Class Matthew from my party with a 99% unleash rate. Meggido, Meggido everywhere.
From now until the end, it is going to be fan service [2] , but I can’t keep the development team together forever, so there’s only going to be several more characters [3]. I also ask for your patience, as we need time to develop more content.
"several" would certainly seem to at least debunk the idea that we're only getting two more dlc characters. Heck I'd even call "several" at least more than three. Maybe it's Sakurai's way of saying they'll make as many extra characters as they can but that there's always going to be some fan bases left unhappy.
I think a Golden Sun representative would be very fan servicey. Service us Sakurai!

I'm gonna break up chunks of this which refer namely to new characters and plot into spoilers, but the general parts are going to be left open.
Graphics:
At first, the art style being moved into 3D was a little jarring, but like in the main game, the Battle models look far better than overworld... which is a shame, considering all cutscenes use the chibi stuff. It's much the same, and the world looks better at the cost of some confusion for puzzles, though this is REALLY helped by the map on the top screen.
Difficulty:
The same that it was in the past 2 games: Puzzles will leave you just standing there trying to figure out what to do occasionally, and all fights bar super bosses, final bosses, and some massive enemies in the super dungeon, are a friggin joke. I used psynergy remotely for healing and did every fight with normal attacks, djiinn, and summons.
Bosses:
Dark Dawn has a surprising LACK of them. By the time you've gotten your 4th party member, you've fought 3-4. After this, you fight like 1 per character you gain barring the final bosses and super bosses.
Characters:
Old
Isaac & Garrett: THE ONLY 2 OF THE ORIGINAL 8 TO BE SEEN, DESPITE IVAN BEING SUPPOSEDLY NEEDED TO REPAIR THE SOARWING.
Ivan: Got a good child, never said where he is, but is supposed to be important because of his technological skills at this point.
Mia: GETS 2 POOR CHILDREN, REFERENCED BY NAME ONCE. DESPITE BEING TIED TO THE SERIES ANTAGONIST.
Felix & Sheba: Worst treatment, only referenced by name once in passing. No clue what happened to them.
Jenna: Is Matthew's Mother. No clue where she is or what she looks like. Woo.
Piers: Ironically gets the most love out of the GS2 characters despite being the one with the littlest importance to the series as a whole. Between his help with Briggs (and probably his ship) alongside picking up a character so we didn't have to escort her... all off screen.
Kraden: GETS MORE ATTENTION THAN IS WARRANTED. THIS GUY HAS EXISTED IN 3 GAMES JUST TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR STUDYING THINGS. SERIOUSLY, WHY GIVE KRADEN MORE LIMELIGHT?!
Briggs: Surprisingly significant role in Dark Dawn, probably the best handled character of all the old ones for usage.
Tret & His Wife: Exposition trees who you kill a thing for. Same as GS1.
Alex: Jesus if they didn't make him even LESS serious of an antagonist, and have the most conflicting agenda with no explanation for it. I really don't get WHY he was in this game, when the two new antagonists could have served his entire position with no issue.
New
Matthew: Copy-paste of Isaac. WHY ARE WE FORCED TO PLAYING WITH JUPITER ADEPTS WHO ALL HAVE THE SAME PSYNERGIES ACROSS ALL 3 GAMES?!
Tyrell: Copy-paste of Garret with even more brashness.
Karis: Ivan's daughter, got SOME of his traits both as a character and as a unit while still being fully likable. Out of the 6 units that aren't copy-pasted from old characters, she's one of 2 that I genuinely like.
Reif: JESUS how do you screw up this poorly. He just exists to be a damsel in distress early on and kind of a nerd until you get Kraden and then he serves no purpose in a conversation.
Rowell: Not playable, but Mia's other child. She is just a brat to a more obvious extent than Jenna or Sheba ever were taken to who shows up with Kraden & Reif near the beginning and then DISAPPEARS FOR THE REST OF THE GAME BECAUSE SHE'S TRYING TO GET IN BED WITH PIERS WHO IS 31+ YEARS OLDER THAN HER!
Amiti: Pointless. Exists to have the insight psynergy, which is one of two halves of Reveal in this game. A psynergy... I can't think of using after the one plot time you needed to.... BEFORE AMITI BECAME A PARTY MEMBER. Plays the card of "Oh I'm Royalty of an isolated kingdom who doesn't quite get the customs of the outside world." Could have just had Rowell join you later on for the point of holding a 2nd Mercury Adept.
Sveta: HELLO SAVING GRACE FOR THE NEW CHARACTERS. Someone who is ORIGINAL, has DEPTH, and some damn good usage for combat. My one legitimate issue is with a bit of the plot around her, I'll cover that in a bit. Legitimately my favorite character added in Dark Dawn with Karis being the runner up.
Eoleo: A) Why is the son of a pirate a MARS adept B) To contrast this brash red headed mars adept guy, we give you THIS BRASH RED HEADED MARS ADEPT GUY. Tyrell and Eoleo are two versions of the same character, which are shades of Garett.
Himi: Exists... so we have a 2nd Jupiter Adept, and give us Search which is the second half of the Reveal Psynergy. Has some prophetic aspects to her, not much time to shine. Really indifferent to her.
Blados & Chalis: Absolute. Filler. Villains. In the vein of Mernardi, Karst, Agaito, and etc. But fill their role decently, however cheaply it comes off as.
Plot
Oh, boy. Here we go.
First off, this game ALMOST has Lost Age tier of terrible pacing (Where you spent 90% of the game to activate the 3rd Light House and then IMMEDIATELY get 4 new characters, doubling your party size, get the "airship," and can immediately go to the final boss).
Because you spent ~60% of the game getting a damn feather for a fetch quest WHICH YOU NEVER FINISH.
Then the "real plot" gets forced into place undoing something that Alex shoved you into.
And besides the fact that it's so poorly paced, there are 2 massive issues with the story in Dark Danw.
A) The Anti-Psynergy Vortex things that came out of the Dark Dawn are used like 3 times before you even get Rief, and then not REFERENCED again until the INSANELY CLIFFHANGERY ending. Which makes it really feel like the writers made the start and end in a very different period of time and later strung together the rest of Dark Dawn.
B) IT IS ALMOST ENTIRELY POINTLESS. BOTH FIXING THE SOARWING AND STOPPING THE LUNAR TOWER ARE INTRODUCED IN DARK DAWN. IT'S A METROID PRIME SITUATION WHERE IT IS VESTIGIAL TO THE STORY.
I'm gonna break up chunks of this which refer namely to new characters and plot into spoilers, but the general parts are going to be left open.

You know, this could be more significant than we think. It makes it less likely that Sakurai will be basing his choices on what's relevant and more on just what the fans are voting for.
So as long as Isaac gets enough votes to make an impression we could be in a good position.

Pretty much the only saving grace of the plot is that the Dynamo shows, for pretty much the first time, mind you, the adverse effects of Alchemy. You're constantly told that Alchemy can destroy the world, but barring the Boulder, what negative effects have been shown throughout 3 games?

(Interestingly, I had a short cnversation with a store clerk about the GS series at the counter. He loved the first two games and he also played Fire Emblem 7.)
