Just voted for Isaac. I realized I probably wouldn't be able to focus if I didn't send in my vote as soon as possible.

For my reason I tried to balance logic with my own love of Golden Sun, I don't think I could possibly have been unbiased about something like this. Who knows, maybe Sakurai is also looking for passion?

Already voted for Isaac, said how he could be an awesome and unique fighter, I might vote for my brother later, although he doesn't play the game yet and he just got his Brawl main back in the game (which I'm hyping as hell too).

By no means am I advocating for not writing whatever you feel is the best argument in Isaac's favour, but I'd be surprised if that wasn't the least important category towards making a decision.

Even though I assume most of you are dudes I'd imagine putting Female as your gender has the best shot of getting Isaac playable (aside from volume of demand ofc), as fewer girls are going to be filling out this ballot yet Nintendo will still want to appease both demographics. Why else would they ask?

So yes, I am advocating you fudge the ballot, though let's be honest, by filling out multiple ballots we're all cheating anyway.

As for my reason, I at least made sure to point out that no other fighter focuses on earth manipulation like Isaac does. Which I think is one of the most important points to make about Isaac.

Agreed. Wolf is basically set in stone. He's very easy to port. The only thing I think that holds him back is if they want to change a few things about him to differentiate him more from Fox/Falco (give him a new Final Smash). He'll probably be announced at E3.

I think they should disallow third-parties, that really bothers me. They cannot guarantee third-parties will get in the game at all. As for unrepped franchises getting priority... eh, that depends. I'd say franchises with few characters and no newcomers in the main game at all.

There's no way he isn't getting in. He was intended all along, that's why they removed his assist trophy.

For the most part, I'd agree. However I imagine if a character receives an overwhelming amount of votes and meets all the other basic criteria for inclusion, and the company currently gets on well enough with Nintendo, there might be a chance. The only ones that might fit into this though are Rayman and to a lesser extent Bayonetta. Snake would be a whole other story now given Kojima's current situation. I wouldn't hold my breath for any third-party though. And frankly I'd rather get more Nintendo characters anyway.

I don't think that's true. He's always been popular. His popularity might be decreasing, not quickly or anything, but it's true the longer without a GS game the lower its gonna get.

In 2010 he was the highest on the popularity chart thanks to DD.

It's pretty crazy how Hex single-handedly rocketed one character to near the top of the popularity charts, but yeah, I'm not convinced it'll be enough to get Rayman included.

I never said he was the most popular, but his strongest factor towards inclusion is currently his popularity. Pretty sure Wolf is the most popular character atm.

That said Isaac is pretty high up there. He's even decently popular in Japan.

I don't know where you're getting this. In almost every poll I see Isaac is almost always towards the top of the poll, within the top five newcomers. It varies here and there, but the top newcomers tend to be King K. Rool, Isaac, Krystal, Dixie Kong, and a couple of others that sometimes shift in. Ridley probably would be if he wasn't already a boss.

I remotely considered requesting Bayonetta, since I really enjoy the series for the complex storyline and unique battle system, but in the end I decided I'm not going to vote for any third-party characters.

As for Solid Snake, I think they should totally give a Nintendo Wars/Advance Wars character his moveset.

For me its flipped. I'm going to attempt to vote for Isaac on my phone, voted for K. Rool on my PC. Instead of Dixie for my third I'm going to try voting Lip, though. I know she's obscure but I want to help support her.


As far as multiple voting goes, vote on multiple machines, and re-vote for your most wanted character again on your main PC once you cast your other votes JUST to make sure your main one is kept.

Wow, it's been months since I've been here. I seriously cannot contain my hype after seeing all that Smash+More content from the Direct. I put in my vote for Isaac as well! Imagine if he was already planned and is waiting to be revealed once his new game at E3 is also announced for Camelot's 20th Anniversary (I know, we don't know if that's possible, but I can dream.) Hype Train is going on overdrive!!!

There's no way they're going to sit around and wait until the poll officially ends; they'll probably develop the top requested characters right away along with additional content like stages and maybe more game modes, then when the poll ends they'll find out whose left and do those (if there's enough support, and there probably would be).
