I admit, I may have picked that one up, I'll see if I'm wrong on that. Don't get me wrong, Sakurai is still respected by me a lot, he made 2 of my favourite franchises, I'm just salty as the USB I use crashes whenever I play smash now, meaning I need to get all the characters back, all the trophies I've lost, a ton of challenges, and all customs for my mains

and then do Palutena's Guidance doing the Robin one, or just look up a video of it , but Chrom's voice sounds so perfect for old Isaac lol not sure if the old Isaac had a dialogue in DD(please tell me if he does) but Chrom's voice just fits so perfect imo.

He said that in the interview he called added clones a free dessert, something that wouldn't have made any difference whether he put them in or not, he said Dark Pit using the Upperdash Arm wouldn't make sense (when in reality it wouldn't matter if the arm was different) and Dark Pit having the Three Sacred Treasures wouldn't make sense (a fact)

In terms of did he ever say "clones won't make it" no he probably didn't.

That said I find it disconcerting he had addressed well loved characters such as Lucina, Dr.Mario, Dark Pit as desserts suggesting that their inclusion or exclusion would have little impact on the game.

Which I feel to those characters and their utility in padding the roster is mutually insulting. Just like how much work went into Ridley is rather insulting and the removal of content such as Ray MK, Drill Dozer, Isaac is also insulting. Adding more GS content but removing GS content at the same time is also baffling to me.

He was a Looooooooong time ago. I wish I could show you but Sakurai REALLY SAY "No clones" and we get alwaays clone in fighting games but...

However, his assist trophy is nowhere to be found and there seems to be space for four more characters, so I believe Isaac has been post-poned as a Patch/ DLC character that will probably be revealed alongside Golden Sun 4 (like Shulk was revealed alongside Xenoblade Chronicles to the New 3DS).

I don't think that's quite what he said. If memory serves me, Sakurai said that he was done with Kid Icarus, and that it would be up to Nintendo if the series is to receive another installment. [Shrugs] But I could be incorrect.

Anyhow, I just played Smash on WiFi for the first time...and boy is it laggy. What really screwed me up was that when I inputted a command, it would not register until a few frames later. This resulted in a LOT of missed attacks and badly-timed dodge rolls and whatnot. I don't think I'll ever play online again.

Then it lies on your connection I guess, I myself get a bit of lag when fighting people in the US. Nintendo is japanese and they have a code of honour, so they may not make any sequel to honour Sakurai, kinda like a reason why capcom hasn't made a Mega Man game in a while

Really any content helps. But what should also be posted with these things is a link to the petition asking for Golden Sun 4 (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/operation-sunrise/). I also ask people to join the #GoldenSunday movement if they know the series. We need to have more people doing all of this to make it important, because the more we'll be, the easier it will be to gather even more people to our cause.

This isn't the topic for this discussion, but first of all.

Dark Pit was made separate for the Arm and Staff. It wasn't that him using the Upperdash Arm didn't make sense, he said he wanted Pittoo to use a separate arm from Pit aesthetically, but that wouldn't work as a costume for whatever reason.

Lucas isn't even much of a clone, and that statement (which I believe was made in some form) was made before they finished with their main cast (which ended up being true, none of the main cast are clones and are pretty diverse. Even Toon Link and Link have some more changes in this game to diverse the two a bit as well). More time means more quick characters, they're put in for the sake of beefing up the character roster. It's more of a step up because there more characters to play as.

It's funny to say this now, but Brawl didn't have any clones in it if you really think about it. Comparing it to Melee and Smash for Wii U / 3DS. No two characters are carbon copies and share the same animations like the clones in Melee and Wii U/3DS. Nobody was able to be a quick add-in to beef the roster due to the constraints to that game. Wii U/3DS had some constraints on it too, but with the bigger development team it sounds like they barely pulled it off, especially with the recent news of Junior almost being cut.

Yeah, as fun as it is to comment on Sakurai's machinations, we should keep this to Isaac and Golden Sun, if need be.

It would've been nice to Sakurai to mention characters he had considered but dropped in his recent interviews, but we know that'll never happen. So, the exact fate of Isaac (until either he is formally announced as DLC or we learn that the train stops as soon as Mewtwo is available) will remain a mystery.

He purposely said that they had planned more characters but some were then left out due to a lack of time, and he said "I won't tell which of course". He fears to be judged on his choices, and/or he wants to keep potential DLC secret? I don't see why Isaac wouldn't be in this list, at least. No other reason for him to not be an AT anymore.

I personally would be happy with anything.

At this point I'd be happy with just the Roof of Isaac's House, with the holes in the straw to make it more dangerous.
