Hey everyone...Bermudian smasher Miggz (Miguel) here. It’s been ages since I posted something here. I just have a discussion topic for today. However, new vids of my Marth and ROK's are coming in a few weeks time, all new and improved. So I look forward to recording and posting those, and some of my secondary character, Fox, will up you know where. ^^
Theory: "The more a smasher hates a character, the more they like losing to them.”
Now onto my topic for today. First, please fill in the blank for this question for me. "It annoys me when my friends/foes complain about Marth's ________.
Now a few of my mates back home always seem to complain about Marth. Weather they play me, or ROK, and are exposed to his range, F-Smash, there is always something. I always tell them "well excuse me, let me put away my sword, and pull out my special beam canon. Oh yeah that's right, Marth has no projectiles.” As mentioned above, I picked up Fox too and to me, my foes should be complaining more about my Fox's shine abilities then anything. But what really bugs me is when people complain about something as simple as a certain character's color. I once used green for Marth, but apparently its one of my mate’s signature color as well. I'm not one to argue, so to save time, I switched to white. At first I didn't like Marth's white clothing, but it makes him look more...built maybe? So yeah...totally love the red clothes now. Something I discovered to those that are very picky about costume color....don't panic, but you won't lose your skill if you have to change it! Although I must admit that I now LOVE red* Marth and plan on using that color whenever I can.
Some might say "stop playing with people that complain like that." That is why I decided to no longer try to change people's outlooks on Marth as a character. To me, it just shows absolute fear when people complain about things like his sword range. Not to mention they spend so much time complaining about how his sword gets through anything, they fail to come up with an effective counter strategy. It’s why I decided to hate no character in the game.
. Again, to me, the more a smasher hates a character, the more they like losing to them.
I use to HATE Peach, and as long as I had that rage, I lost to her quite a bit. I even found myself complain about her down smash and turnips, and then it hit me, not the turnip, an idea. =P If I stopped ranting about a characters ways, the better I can think clearly to counter that character. Now I do not struggle as much against Peaches as before simply because I realized complaining about her down A won't make it go away.
In closing, a few questions for you, the Marth player. Is there something you can't get over about Marth? Is there anything that boils your blood in particular when it comes to people bashing on Marth?
And finally, once again, I would love it if people who answer to my post fill in the blank to the top question, Thanks everyone.
P.S. Anyone thinking of coming to Bermuda anytime soon? You know, before Brawl comes out? ^^;
