Is there any point in using bananas on Olimar?

Just use them to limit his stage options, similar to how you'd deal with a reflector-happy Fox or Wolf. Put them in places that you don't want him to go.

Because his pikmin attacks completely shut down thrown bananas (kind of like Dedede's waddle dee toss, but much more spamable and annoying). At least, I think that's why; correct me if I'm wrong, I'm the only decent Olimar that I know. Actually, the only decent Diddy I know too, come to think of it.

the approaching is very difficult vs olimar, he can use his smashs and grabs to space very well, and the pikmin to rack up damage fast too. the bananas are one of the best options to approach, set some combos, or throw it out of the stage to get a easy ko edgeguarding.
If he is near to the ledge, a slip can cost the stock for him, because a bthrow at 60%~, put at olimar in a really bad situation, because his poor recovery.
is possibly throw bananas our of his range, (exccept of white pikmin) , so the bananas are completely needed ins this match.

Yes.

He can't block them with a pikmin throw every time. Mindgame him, when he trips you can run in and capitalize. Do your best to get him off the stage and then gimp him. He shines center stage, so do what you can to control the middle of the stage with the bananas and edge him out to the sides.

Okay, the bananas won't be as effective against Olimar as against certain other characters, but they will still play a vital role in beating him.

Also, just as his pikmin block your bananas, you can use bananas and peanuts to block this pikmin toss (though they won't block his close range attacks with them).

I don't know anything about this, but I'm curious if hitting Olimar's pikmin is counted in move decay. Knowing this could be helpful.

but remember that while he's stopping your bananas you only lose 1 move, while HE loses all his moves except tilts and nair. your bananas are stopping his pikmin. thats almost all he has.

generally the olimar users, do a lot of dodges when comes from the air, because they are very vulnerable in that situation, and maybe because of their non free of lag aerials(no high priority too), so if you read when he will make the dodge, u can punish him with a fair, and this can mean a easy stock following it with a edgehog.
becareful when you edgehog and he is recovering, because he can fair you, u will die at lower percentage, and he will still alive.

^^^^ he can also upb stagespike, or use his whistle to get a purple in the front of the line then >b it to hit you off the edge, spike you off the edge, or upair you off the edge. he has more options than you think.

Olimar isn't impossible tho, you just have to really be aware of his grabs in my opinion. But he's pretty lame on bf...

I really hate the campy olimars. Where they run away use their pikmin and then when you try to approach them they either grab or F/Dsmash you. How do you approach them?cause when I got grab in with diddy it would usually end up in a stock loss for oli.
