Is pikachu a good character for someone with a passion for technicalities?

I guess I have a passion for honing long term skills, and I need a second character to main.

Though I don't know all that much about what people have discovered about other characters, Pikachu's QAC seems to be one of the more difficult skills to master (and it still in an experimental stage). To me it feels like a mix of shffling and wavedashing, which sounds like what you are going for.

Anyway, its certainly a skill you could spend a while trying to perfect (or develop). Again, I havent heard about too many other tricks like this among other characters, so you should definitely check it out.

Pikachu has a lot of combos to memorize though. Knowing which chain grab works well with who and until what percent is mandatory. Afterwards practice your best quack attack. For me its the Wiimote and nunchuck set up where I jump with left on D-pad, b with down on D-pad, do my second jump with the control stick and attack with A. This was done after a few hours of testing at my friends with the GC controller b-stick and mapping jump to some L and R buttons.

Then the real fun part is in determining which quack attack combos work against who at what damage. Quack into uair, and bair is what i'm practicing with most of the cast since its seems the most reliable but in some cases quack to uair to nair does the job better.

Oh and you can chain quack attacks together and the combo potential in that is mindboggling by my hands are too crapped to consitently attempt those. Anyways my point is that there is a lot to explore with Pikachu and if you want to study, trust me there is a lot to study.

Didn't someone try this but found out your opponent can DI?

I don't think he means through them. The beauty of the QA is that its so fast, so sending an opponent flying back, then QAC to where theyre heading and catching them with another attack feels pretty awesome. Yes, they can DI around, but because the QA and QAC's movement is so fluid, it's easier to follow them around.

That said, it's by no means easy. Pulling off a quick attack is easy. Pulling off many consistantly and more importantly using them to their potential is more challenging.

I sure can

grab dthrow > up tilt > up air however many is efficient > either forward or back air depending on their position (nair might work) > by now you should be on the ground so put in some repeated a's or a finisher if possible.

try it. I'll try putting up a video as soon as i get the friggin card driver to work

basically uair and utilt are perfect setups to send opponents in the air so your fair and bair can be utilized fully. bair kills if they get stuck and fair isn't all that bad either. and as we all know, if the opponent is off the stage, pika has a good chance to kill since thunder plays mindgames if you train your opponent to fear it.

i straigh up tell u this, pika is a fast hit and run and combo character. pika can just short hop farward aerial n di away and do it again and again. his down throw is perfect set up for combo like shiek in melee.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought that Pikachu can combo better with fair than TL's bair because even at high percentages as long as you don't hit with the last hit of fair (using a fast fall) you can continue the combo. TL's bair keeps knocking them away too far at 80ish for me to keep chaining them together

But then again i suck
