Going by context, pretty sure it's supposed to say parasol not princess, but yeah, mechanical translations are laughably bad sometimes... most of the time actually.

It doesn't look that different. The only real difference is the graphical effect it now makes.

I think it's the opposite. The hearts are much cuter and fit Peach better than a brutal explosion. They can give Wario's butt attack the explosion instead.

Every character has 26 different moves which are executed this way. 5 of 26 are with her butt. That's almost 20 % butt attacks. For a more detailed breakdown:

The rest are just one hit wonders, like Toad and her crown.

I guess the reason her butt is her characteristic weapon is because it attracts more attention when a sweet princess fights with her butt instead of her legs or hands. In the same way, some people think of Toad or the veggies when they think about Peach, even though she only uses them for one single attack each.

I mean, everyone use hands and legs - so they're hardly characteristic. Peach's butt is her characteristic weapon because she uses it so much, and few other characters have butt attacks. Wario, King Dedede and Luigi as I can think of. Wario has two, and King Dedede and Luigi has one each.

And not only Smash Bros, she actually has butt attacks in Mario Kart DD and Super Princess Peach as well. Also, Mario, Luigi and Toad all used veggies in SMB2. Only Peach and Daisy had butt attacks in Mario Kart DD, though.

Did anyone notice how many Peach Bombers Peach did during the Direct presentation? If you go back and look, you'll notice she did her butt attack A LOT and almost in every scene she was in.

Not to mention Ken Sugimori's artwork for Greninja.

Not to mention Peach had a butt attack in Mario Kart Double Dash.

Not to mention all of her butt attacks were made for Melee, and didn't exist before that game. Someone made them all up...

The fact that an official sites actually reckognize this is topic worthy IMO. I mean, everyone knows she's using her butt A LOT, but you rarely see Nintendo mention it.

I would say Peach is "kinky". She's obviously not raw sex appeal like Zero Suit Samus, but she is attractive in a different way. She's often portrayed as innocent, but then she does all these butt attacks... I think that contrast is what makes her "special".

Peach really just makes me think of the whole "magical cute girl" archetype which is really popular/attractive in Japan. She's got a nice body, but her proportions are younger looking than Samus, and her face is meant to look adorable and young, while Samus clearly looks mature. She's basically the sexual kind of cute. At least that's what I see her as. She acts innocent most of the time, but in Smash Bros especially, it's implied that she's not COMPLETELY innocent.

This is also the source of the "Peach and Bowser are friends with benefits" fan theory.

This. And you how popular tsunderes are. Not that Peach is a tsundere, but she's all sweet and innocent outwards, and then has lots of butt attacks, lacy underwear and is actually pretty mischivous. I like that combination.
