Is anyone else who is regularly checking the updates at smash dojo getting as disappointed daily as I am? I mean it seems besides the levels that they aren't really giving us what we want...INFORMATION. I'm sorry but if I have to wait a week for another character we already know to be in the game like metaknight, snake, or like the recent Zamus; I'm going to break my laptop. Also I'm kinda disappointed the fact that they have yet to give us more info on the online status of this game. Is there anyone else out there that feels as i do or more importantly is there anyone with any leaked character information they could send our way?

Btw nice to see everyone still loves these games as much as i do

I don't hate the updates becuase I know for a fact that these things will be comming out eventually, plus the samus update about how she becomes zsamus through final smash cleared up such a big question.

Also, in the new zsamus update, we now know she uses the whip as a weapon, and it has very long range. (marth?)

So these updates are awesome in my opinion, I guess it's just you.

If you're disappointed, you might as well stop checking in, because it's only going to get worse.

We've been shown all of the original 8 except Yoshi. Out of the other 6 who were unlocked from the beginning in Melee, only Ness, Falcon, Peach, and the ICs remain. The IC's could easily be locked in Brawl, or could even disappear entirely.

Add in the newcomers we know about minus Snake: Pit, Wario, and Meta Knight.

That could potentially be the 16-character starting roster, and if so, we might not hear of any brand new characters from the Dojo.

In fact, the more I think about this, the more likely it seems. It's a starting roster that makes a lot of sense:

Mario, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi
Zelda, Link
Pikachu, DK, Samus, Fox, Kirby
Falcon, Ness
Meta Knight, Wario, Pit

Don't expect any surprise new characters from the Dojo until after the game's released.

We'll have to hope for a leak.

We were told the identity of ALL hidden characters in Melee before the game was released. All 11 hidden characters were revealed at once in a press release shortly before the launch, IIRC.

Well can anyone answer why the online status isn't being revealed? I heard that is wasn't online at first but then i heard nintendo wished this game to be online to have a fighting chance against halo. Why haven't the released any official online info?

They don't tell us any more than you know about the online, that is the problem

We know nothing, except that sakurai wants it, he said in an early press conferance...

Meh, the only ones that disappoint me are the mondays! I hate waiting 3 days for a bad update, but the rest just fits into my schedule anyways :)

Welcome to the boards, a falcon fan are you ?

Well I kinda see brawl as a movie. I really don't want them to tell me all the new characters. I want it to be a surprise and find out by unlocking them through the game.

Yes but I'd like to confirm which ones will be returning. Not the new ones but atleast confirm the melee characters.

I feel the same way

I will be mad when I see the challenger approaching thing, and it is jigglypuff AGAIN..

You always get her the same way, why not make her the last one to earn? That would "surprise" jigglypuff users all over the world XD

By "surprise" i mean piss off, they normally get her first, and for a week these boards would be convinced that she is not in the game, cut like pichu should be >_>

I like how spoiled this community is now. Sakurai goes out of his way to give us daily updates (and unlike what you said, some of it actually IS new information) and you complain. What other games do this prior to launch? None. Just be happy you get your daily dose of Brawl.

*chants* Aaameeen.

Seriously, with most Nintendo titles we know literally nothing about them until maybe a month before launch. Sakurai is going against all Nintendo tradition and bothering to give us tibdits of info daily, and people keep complaining?

Come on, now. Would you rather prefer there was no Dojo at all?

Banana peel rocked! I only really get get disappointed when it's absolutely stale news: "Today's update is about how to jump!"

Otherwise, every little peek we get into the game is awesome. I especially appreciate Sakurai's efforts in comparison with, say...Spore? A game that fans hear news about once every 5 months? Or even Animal Crossing 2, which was just...mentioned a few times as maybe existing, and that's all we ever heard.

Well, you have to admit that it was kind of bull**** that he took all the info off of the old site and recycles it as "new updates." We should've had profiles for Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Metaknight, Pit, Zamus, Wario, and Snake from the start. That is over a weeks worth of updates right there that he stole from us.

I agree. Though, it is interesting. This IS history being made because no other game has every been updated this way. Its good to hear other people acknowledge this.

Zian sounds like the whiney gamefaqs users. "What they didn't release brand new info, better go tell people about it on a message board to make myself feel better"

It's kind of hard to steal a gift you haven't even given somebody yet. If he wants to spend a week giving us more detailed information about confirmed characters before he gets to the juicy stuff instead of...you know, not updating anything at all? I'm fine with that.

I wonder how people would feel if he had a update that said "Do to people complaining, I will not update the site anymore"

How exactly does someone steal something from you, that was never yours? Also, I really like the Dojo site so far, we've been given info on a few new stages, loads of items, got 2 extra characters confirmed. And know a little bit more about final smashes. Also, we didn't know anything about the music up till the dojo updates.

I have to say Sakurai is doing us all a favor, if you don't like it, just don't check the site but don't go around complaining and making topics like this.

IMO, my hopes are WAY to high for updates, which is why I'm always disappointed.

QFT. I couldn't agree more with that statement.

However, we are allowed to have some complaints---that is the point of the forums, right? To discuss likes, dislikes, and all things pertaining to Smash. Lord knows I'm grateful for these updates; it gives me more incentive to buy the game. Plus, it's unprecedented; somebody pointed out that no other game publisher has done this and they are absolutely correct. Like any barrel of apples, however, there's going to be some bad ones here and there that even the most giddiest (and appreciative) Brawl-fan is going to shake their heads at.

I found the "How to Recover" update as information that could've been saved for an instruction booklet rather than as a blog-worthy, hype-building tidbit concerning Brawl. I know that Sakurai and Company are meaning to bring more people onto the Smash bandwagon by doling out this information to the newcomers, but I still feel as if it's gonna be a given anyway and shouldn't be thrown up there (yes, I shot my own statement in the foot with that line; this is just how I feel, though). Fortunately, that's about it as far as complaints go. I've enjoyed every other update thus far and am looking forward to seeing more in the future.

I'm not trying to start anything, MookieRah. I'm just throwing that out there.

I'm also getting kind of mad about this.

However he does have 100 or so days to add more updates, so to avoid giving out 'unlockable' characters and stages, what he's doing makes perfect sense.

Ya I've been Falcon ever since i unlocked him in N64 Smash bros. Maybe I'm just a little nervous that there hasn't been any captain falcon details. I know he is still in the game due to Samuri Goroh another f-zero driver is an assist trophy. I just would like nintendo to announce all the remaining core characters...I mean that makes me as a fan a little nervous that my character could be tweaked around with like it has said to have been done to bowser. I just want to hear he hasn't changed.

Same here. He wants to save the best thing for last, finding out for ourselves what other things will be in Brawl besides all the updates on the Smash Dojo site. If we knew everything about Brawl, then it wouldn't be so exciting playing it because there would nothing that would suprise us.

Be happy you even get updates. Be happy Sakurai even considered giving us tidbits of information about the next greatest smash game at all. Would you break your laptop if you found out at E3 that Sakurai wouldn't be giving us any information on Brawl until the day it comes out? You probably would. So just because the updates aren't what "you" want, doesn't mean you need to complain and whine about. Be patient. The updates you're talking about will come to light eventually. But for now, be thankful that we get anything at all and stop taking it for granted.

The updates have been fine. There's been more juicy, interesting content revealed than fluff or filler. When it comes to the Dojo, what good we've seen so far greatly outweighs the bad and I won't mind having updates like the ones we've been having continue for the next few months.

What Sakurai is doing right now is giving me daily bits of Brawl that I can piece together and build hype/interest with prior to the game's release. Waking up each weekday morning to a new update is something I very much look forward to. It's so much better than waiting months for a new trailer.

Honestly, the only thing I haven't approved of is the lack of clear and somewhat extensive gameplay footage. The 15-second deal was okay, but honestly, to see a minute's worth of cut-together footage would, in my mind, be worth a week's worth of updates.

Well IMO this whole week has been dissopointing updates, except yesterady I couldnt care less about pokeballs and today I already knew about zero suit samus. But yesterdays update answered the question of how do you get ZS samus. And I agree why wont it say anything about online

The only ones i dont like are the how to play updates, I mean there gonna make a manual for the game so theres really no point. Soon there gonna make updates about " How to turn your Wii on " or "Take a break every 15 minutes while playing. Other wise everything else is ok

I stayed up for most of the older updates, and July 9th was the most disappointing. (June 6 was one of few I didn't stay up for)

That's so true. I think he's putting these updates out cuz of people that haven't played or even heard of smash bros.

Geez how many updates will we get until dec 3rd??
hmm well we have about like 5 months left about.. times how many days, subtract all weekends *fumbles with calculator*

Umm well I'm going to estimate about over 100 more updates till the actual release.. I'm sure there will be room for more improvments on the way..

Yeah. Sakurai has lots of time to get these updates in and plus, I think he works on them on the weekends.
The updates look pretty quick to me I mean it's possible that he thought them all over but I just think it's kinda random.. Like how Bowser had his final smash right after he was announced, but Zelda didn't.. that kinda stuff I don't get...
