Is Ike a Ness counter?

Or is he just extremely powerful? I don't just lose to good Ike players, I get fourth whenever Ike is around for some reason. Is he a ness counter, or is he just powerful, and I just don't do well on Ike?

This, 66% of the FFA matches I play in has an Ike player, and he is usually the one who wins. His smashes have huge range and power, and their lack of speed doesn't matter nearly as much in the chaotic FFA environment were its not hard at all to find a moment to set one up.

In a 1v1, PK Fire is great against Ike since he's a heavy and suffers from lag which gives you time to pull it off. But yeah, have to agree with everyone else... just how FFA is

You're suffering because Ike has strong attacks, and Ness is lightweight, so he can launch you off at even 70% pretty easily.

yep. FFAs are bad for ness. I fight, but if I notice everyone is just picking on someone, I step to the side and fire repeated pk thunders. Good setup for someone else to kill them or me to get them. with lucas this especially works well since pk thunder goes through them. Ness has the tail whipping action, so it's great. use juggling too.

Heck, spam PK Fire too. I am not kidding one bit. It's fraking godly in FFs and team battles (with friendly fire off).

What I mean to say is I get fourth against Ike ALWAYS. But if there's no Ike, I just get first ALWAYS. What's freaking wrong?

Because Ike in FFA (guessing Wifi) is usually a noob smash-spammer, or, one level higher than that, someone who camps people waiting for a perfect opportunity to steal kills.

Now if you want to beat an Ike in a timed FFA, you'll have to single him out and prevent him from doing that. Remember that killing him makes him lose points, and at the same time, if someone's keeping pressure on him, he won't be getting many kills.

I tend to always beat Ike in matchups (except every now and Then in a FFA, but like Ademisk said spam PKT2 and watch the bodies fly). Even when the Ike is an experience player they'll always forget about PK thunder2. Or atleast you can make them forget about it.

But anyways, on topic. Ness pwns Ike hard. Ike is too slow to kill him and I never have problems with him. Just watch out for his smashes and bair and that's all he has.

Just in FFA, Ike's smash spam and kill steal. I usually home in on such spammers. I also home in on Mtaknights who abuse the drill and tornade, kirby's that stone, toon links that dair, pits that forward B, Pikachu's that thunder, and other spammers. Do the same and the world will love you.
