Being fat is okay, especially considering some people have genetic basis for their body proportions. However I do not condone people unconsciously becoming fat by their everyday diet. Actually, let me rephrase that. I do not condone the way our market deliberately encourages people to buy high calorie food with low nutrient density, AND the fact that the government endorses it. One example of this is how so many products have high fructose corn syrup (source of LOTS of calories), which is dirt cheap, because corn is massively subsidized, and the excess corn can be used to raise ultra cheap livestock which can then earn MASSIVE profits by inflating the prices real high.
I'm not against people making healthy decisions by themselves, but we need a government in America that will help encourage America make good decisions. Much money on healthcare would be saved if the government would focus on healthier food choices rather than catering to lobyists for big business. We should not be blaming people for poor food choices in today's day and age when we have such a consumer-unfriendly system for food production, all deliberately endorsed by the government.
Just my two cents really. I emphasize strongly that I dislike the way my country is being run as of now.
